Vector Security, the Pittsburgh area-based security solutions company, has acquired Pelican Security Network, Inc., an alliance of security and fire protection providers, alarm dealers and systems integrators based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The acquisition expands Vector’s Gulf Coast reach from Florida through Louisiana to Dallas/Ft. Worth, Texas.
Vector Security, No. 8 on SDMag’s top 100 list, absorbed Pelican’s employees and more than 17,000 customers. Amy Varisco will head Vector Security’s new Gulf District, which will include Pelican.
Pam Petrow, Vector Security president and CEO, said, “We look forward to introducing the Vector Security brand to the Louisiana, Texas and Mississippi markets as we focus the company growth across these regions in the coming months.”

Vector Security is one of the country’s largest and oldest providers of commercial and residential electronic security and home automation services. It traces its root to The Philadelphia Contributionship, America’s oldest property insurance company founded by Benjamin Franklin and others in 1752.
Vector Security has earned several awards over the years, including: SDM Dealer of the Year and CSAA Central Station of the Year. In 2012, the company re-branded itself and introduced the logo, “Intelligent security tailored for you.” In 2013, it acquired Industry Retail Group, a provider of managed network services.
