The Interlogix (GE) Indoor SAW Passive Infrared (PIR) Motion Detection Sensor is a wireless, battery-powered sensor with advanced signal processing technology to minimize risk of false alarms due to pets (up to 40 lbs.) The motion detector identifies movement within a specific area by detecting the infrared energy as it moves across the field of view. Once detected, the sensor transmits an alarm signal to the control panel.
What it’s Designed to Do
The motion sensor is designed to provide detection across large, open areas or where there are many windows.
- Pet immunity signal processing prevents false alarms with pets weighing up to 40 pounds
- Passive infrared detection senses movement within a room by sensing the infrared energy (heat) emission from a person as they move across a room
- Fully supervised device sends signal every 64 minutes to the security panel to ensure uninterrupted performance
Things to Consider
- Sensors should be placed to detect motion that moves across the field-of-view, not directly toward the sensor.
