Formed in 1988, Alarm Force serviced Canadian homes and businesses for several years before entering the U.S. home security market. In 2004, AlarmForce began operations in North Carolina and now boasts over 250,000 customers in various U.S. regions.
Unlike many other security providers, AlarmForce manufacturers all their own products and handles both the installation and monitoring service themselves. With this control, AlarmForce is able to design, refine and evolve their own proprietary technologies, as they did in 1991 when AlarmForce introduced live two-way voice communication, which allowed direct communication between homeowner and monitoring center through the main control panel. In 2000, AlarmForce launched AlarmPlus to counter telephone line tampering. The technology automatically signals the monitoring center if the phone line is disabled, alerting the center of the need to dispatch authorities.
Another notable distinction is AlarmForce’s system configuration. Unlike almost every other home security company, AlarmForce does not rely on traditional door and window sensors to
Secure the home, but instead utilizes motion sensors and their true two-way voice communication to protect their customers’ homes.
Additional enhancements to their service offering and technology, include AlarmCare, their 24-hour personal emergency response system, which launched in 2008 and VideoRelay, their streaming video service which became available in 2011 and can be used independent of or inconjunction with an AlarmForce home security system.
Customers do not own their equipment or system. This is by design as it allows AlarmForce to service and upgrade equipment without cost to the customer.
