Recent Customer Review For Vector Security Alarms (Con't):
This Vector Security review has been submitted by former or present employee of Vector Security. Vector uses a sub-dealer program, similar to Brink's and ADT. Usually, your system will be installed by a local company, and Vector will monitor it from a central nation-wide monitoring center. If you have had a good or bad experience with Vector Security, please submit your review! Reviews are only edited for spam and/or vulgar language.

I agree with the comments as written on this site. We had (and I stress the word "HAD".
I have to say that the relationship did start out ok (not perfect - when we originally assumed the system (we purchased the house with the system already installed), they sent a salesperson out to try to convince us to upgrade the panels. When I questioned why I would want to do this when there was nothing wrong at all, I was told that we should buy a newer system since it would need to be replaced if it did end up going down. What??? That doesn't make any sense! Of course, that was 11 years ago now, and there has not been a problem since then (one backup battery was replaced about a two years ago).
My main issue is with monitoring. Approximately two (2) years ago, we stopped consistently receiving calls when our security system was accidentally or intentionally triggered. This came to a head approximately six (6) months ago when our fire alarm went off (due to some burned food in the kitchen). We proceeded to disarm the alarm, and waited for the call from Vector. We waited and waited, and waited.
After about 30 minutes, there was a knock on the door. It was the firemen. Luckily (if it were a true emergency) they contacted the fire department. Unluckily, they made a trip to the house for nothing. Approximately 30 minutes after that, we received a call (on my cell phone) from Vector Security.
They wanted to verify that everything was alright! Alright!!!??? We could have died by then. When we asked why they didn't call the house, they insisted that they did call (the phone never rang). To ensure that they had the right number, we asked what number they dialed. The response was "...oh...the phone number is all zeros". All zeros!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wonderful!
So...needless to say, we no longer have Vector Security. I guess maybe we found a "novel" way of getting out of the contract. It did cost me about $45 in collection fees, but we stopped paying the bill, it was sent to collections, and the contract was cancelled! No fees for the remainder of the contract, and only minor (if any) blemishes on my credit.
