We had our alarm system installed over ten years ago.
At that time the salesman told us that we 'owned' the equipment (at that time Vector was Triple A Security). We discontinued service in 2004 due to the system causing problems, ex.: the alarm would go off for no apparent reason. As of 2009 I began recieving numerous annoying and harrassing calls from ****** at Vector, telling me that they needed to send a technician to my home because they are getting 'pings' from my home. Prior to this I had not heard from Vector, we had paid our bill in full and thought that was the end of them.
Today I called and spoke with a supervisor named *****, and explained that I was weary from recieving calls from Vector when we no longer have service with them for many years and I told her ****** stated that I must have a technician come to my home to "fix' the problem. This supervisor, *****, told me that if I had read my contract, I would have known that Vector owns the transmitter. At the time that I had discontinued service I was never told of a 'transmitter', never recieved letters, nothing. I told ***** that this is not my problem, and I don't appreciate having their technicians come into my home when I am no longer under contract or any other obligation to them. ***** then told me that I would be billed for the 'pings' that Vector is recieving. I asked her why, when I have done nothing wrong, paid the bill many years ago, suddenly this is an issue? I have no contract, and they are going to bill me for equipment that I paid for, that is in my home. I told ***** that that would be a SCAM! What if we sold our home I asked, she said that would be different,.... in what way? Of course none of this makes any sense, I am a reasonable person, but this is outrageous...imagine, Vector is going to bill me, for what? Their antiquated system is malfunctioning? I'm no longer a customer, and I explained that I will report them to the ATTORNEY GENERAL, all news stations, BBB, and anyone else, if they send me any bills. SCAM artists indeed.
My advice, stay away from Vector!
