I've been a customer of Vector Security for fours.
I'm active duty military and recently received orders to move. When I tried to cancel my service they told me that I had to pay the remainder of my contract. I explained to them that I had already met my obligation of three years. They then told me that it "auto renews for another three years." I was NEVER told this when I signed up.
When I explained that I was active duty military they said they wanted my orders and a letter (not a problem) and a bill of sale for the house. My house isn't sold and it's been over 30 days. With today's economy, who knows how long it will take. They said too bad and that I'm stuck paying for a service I'm not using. The house is empty and the phone line is disconnected so the alarm couldn't send a signal even if there was a problem. They then claimed that they were exempt from the soldier and sailors relief act because they are not an installment plan and that I should be grateful for their courteous service.
I strongly don't recommend Vector to anyone unless you can predict three years out that you'll be moving! Absolutely horrible customer service as well.
