

| (Added July 2/09) I got a great deal from Protect America. I got 10 entry points for my windows and doors and saved almost $500. I looked at ADT but they wanted to charge me $99 for install plus they only offered 2 entry points plus a keychain remote control and motion detector. (of course the $99 fee is AFTER a $200 rebate...so that's a lot of money out of pocket). The ADT offer was not nearly enough to cover all my windows. ADT monitoring was $42.99 a month and Protect America offered it at $34.95 a month. I looked at Brinks and Protection One too - but nobody could beat the offer that Protect America had. The customer service at Protect America is top notch. I love the GE security system too. |

| (Added June 24/09) If you are looking for an alarm company listen up. I own numerous rental properties and have had many alarm systems from various companies. I have had many terrible experiences with tenants destroying equipment, false alarms, warranty issues, companies going out of business, and just plain rude employees. Recently, I installed two alarm systems in a duplex that I own. (Yes, I installed them myself). The alarm systems were from Protect America. I have to tell you . . . I was thrilled with the service that I received. It was also the least amount of money that I have ever spent on an alarm system. I was concerned about the customer installation process, but felt much better when I realized that the alarm systems were practically plug and play. I spent about 25 minutes in each unit and Jason from customer support stayed on the phone with me the entire time. 5 stars! |

| (Added June 10/09) Protect america has been our service provider for years. I have never had any issues with them. Recently, I became bored with our old security system (it was pretty old). I called Protect america and asked them about upgrading. I renewed my contract and I got a brand new security system. I am very pleased and no longer bored. System works great, and I didn't have to pay anything for it which is a plus. |
| (Added June 10/09) Crooks! Do not sign up with this company. Their customer service is a joke, try to have them come out and look at your system if it is not working properly. Also, do not sign the contract or please put in a cancellation notice the day you sign as your contract will be automatically renewed after 2 years without your authorization. They say this is read to you but it is not! Save yourself the aggravation, do your research and you will find much better companies. Also, they have a low rating with the BBB and over 1000 complaints against them. |
| (Added June 6/09) I called Protect America three times before making my decision. This website gave me a lot of question to ask. I was very impressed with my sales person's (*****) ability to answer them. He was more than happy to answer them all. I finally ended up going with the basic package, and glad I did. It works great. |
| (Added June 6/09) Protect America has always served us well. I am not sure why people have had problems. We have never had any problems and only have the best things to say about Protect America. They were there last summer for us when my mother-in-law had an accident. She managed to press the panic button and the EMS department was dispatched right away. I am thankful for our alarm system. |
| (Added June 1/09) I was very displeased with the Simon XT and Protect America. Terrible Company and equipment. The sensors are sub-standard at best! The motion sensor is the worst I have ever experienced and I have had ADT and Brinks. You can run past the motion without setting it off. I wonder how many people do a system test on there own before the three day cancellation clause? The monitoring they set you up with is a joke and customer service is even more laughable. Try to get a service tech to uninstall it. I would caution anyone to beware of this company...PLEASE! |

| (Added May 25/09) My wife ordered their system without even talking to me about it. She installed the entire alarm before I even got home from work. I was pretty upset, but the more I thought about it the more it made sense. She did not have to pay anything for the alarm system and the monthly charge is not much. I am glad she did the research because I heard that it can cost a ton of money to get an alarm system installed. I just wanted to say thanks to Protect America for saving me money. |
| (Added May 23/09) I have worked with Protect America for years. We are required to read the terms and conditions to you before we send the system out. On top of that our customers have to sign the agreement online with the terms and conditions in plain sight for you to take the time and read it over before you commit to anything. Please do yourself a favor and read it over, save yourself a headache, and us as well. |
| (Added May 15/09) We just installed our third Protect America alarm system. (We own a chain of small stores). The alarm installation was a breeze and the service is impressive. We plan on installing an alarm system in the next two locations as well. As a business owner I understand just how important customer service is and I like to recognize good service whenever possible. Protect America gets an A rating from me. |
| (Added May 15/09) This company is a joke. I was basically conned into signing up with them. I fulfilled my three year contract and called at the end to find out how to cancel. They simply said to send a letter requesting cancelation. Ok, did that. Then they tell me my account automatically renewed for a year. ??!! Apparently I was supposed to send the letter 60 days before the contract end. Why wasn't I informed about this period? Because they are crooks. Now, I'm moving and do not need or want their "services", but they refuse to cancel. Of course, there are never any managers available to speak with. DO NOT get invoved with this headache of a company. |

| (Added May 15/09) I have been with Protect America since 1994. Service has been great. I have nothing at all to complain about. Actually, I came across this website while trying to find some information on Protect America for my daughter. She is buying a new house this summer and I have been trying to convince her to get an alarm system. If she is smart, she will listen to me and go with Protect America. |
| (Added May 13/09) Just signed up with PA and I am impressed. I like GE products. I read some great reviews on the Simon alarm system that PA uses. A few other companies use the same alarm but PA seemed to be the friendliest and seemed to have the best price. One of my students also mentioned PA to me. |
| (Added May 12/09) Protect America has been my alarm company for about 4 year now. I have not had any problems. I like Protect America and I don't think I will ever switch service. I came across these reviews while getting some info for my mother-in-law. I just wanted people to know that Protect America is a great security company. My tip for people - - read any contract before you sign it. Don't be afraid to ask questions. If you understand what you are signing, then you will not have any problems down the road. |

| (Added April 24/09) Stay away from this company and beware of the contract you sign! This company has an automatic renewing contract that requires you at least 60 days notice when cancelling. I'm a long time loyal customer and on my fifth year, how do they reward me? By charging me the usual pay even though i wasn't being monitored. It turned out that my control panel wasn't sending a signal to the monitoring station for few months now and they never informed me. They were not proactive in getting it fixed too. They refused to send somebody to service it since "they don't do that". I tried to cancel my service but i was told that i didn't give them enough time (they insist on 60 days according to the contract). So now im stucked with a crappy non existent security monitoring and paying almost $40 dollars for it. |
| (Added April 24/09) The system protect america gave me is junk. Robbers came in picked up the Simon XT and through it on the ground it shattered in to hundreds of pieces. The cops were never called. I pay 50 dollars a month for something that can be picked up and smashed into oblivion and never call the police. Call a real security company wireless panels are a scam made to skip out on a real technician. |

| (Added April 1/09) Protect America has been around for a while. I had come across their offer while under contract with ADT a few years ago. My contract with ADT ended recently and I changed over to Protect America and GE security. Everything has worked out great. Paying a bit less with them and the equipment does the job. |
| (Added April 1/09) I am a junior at SU and finally living off campus. I came across this site while searching for alarm company reviews. I read reviews on ADT, Brinks, and Protect America. I ended up going with Protect America. They were super friendly and had the least expensive deal. Equipment came fast and the self install was a breeze. From some of the stuff I read on this site, I expected there to be a ton of hidden points in the contract. I was ready to call my sales agent out, but they explained everything to me. They even put a manager on the phone to confirm the terms and conditions a second time. The contract is really straight forward and the service was amazing. I was really impressed by Protect America. |
| (Added Mar 12/09) Ok... even though I am having some issues with Protect America... they DON'T have a license in Ohio for Smoke/Fire Alarms... this morning while at work I got a call by someone at Protect America that the alarm had gone off at my home... well I called my wife who said she forgot and opened a window... and ran to shut off the system but even after doing that Protect America gave me a call and asked for the Password... and then asked if they should call the police and I said no... but then they told me to call my wife and then if needed call them or the police from there... GOOD JOB Protect America... I will give honest feedback when warranted... |

| (Added Mar 6/09) I just recently signed up with Protect America and I have to say that the gentleman was the most knowledgeable person I have spoken with in a long time. He answered all of my questions and waived many fees for me. He made me feel sure of the service and told me about all of the little things such as the 60 day clause and any cancellation policies. Everything was crystal clear and obvious, nothing was hidden from me and I read the entire contract. This was the company that gave me the most information. I'm glad I signed up with them and I'm looking forward to peace of mind. |
| (Added Mar 3/09) (Updated May 27/09) This system sucks! Protect America did not protect my family. We were robbed yesterday and the they had all day to help themselves because my "security" system failed. And to top it off, Protect America wants to profit off of it because the low life thieves cut the wire and broke my box, the alarm company tells me it is not covered. I have to pay $309 to replace the box! Protect America are thieves too! 3 Month Update: They did not resolve anything. I had to pay the $309 for the new box. Then today, I find out that I was originally told my contract was 24 months and now it is 36 months. I called because I wanted the system to be transferred to just my name. My husband and I were both joint but he no longer lives with us and is not allowed in the house. I need my alarm to protect us more than ever. Well, they said they can't do that without proper credit nevermind the fact they have been drafting their payments from my account that he is not on. They have no problem taking my money, but they can't seem to protect me and my kids from the one person we need protecting from. |
| (Added Feb 17/09) I live in a bad neighborhood; and I mean BAD. I called every security company at least twice before deciding on Protect America. We have never had any problems with them. Customer support is wonderful. Our alarm really makes us feel better. |
| (Added Feb 11/09) (Updated June 1/09) DO NOT BUY! The system is a piece of junk and the contract is written so you have to pay for it whether it works or not. This company should be sued and put out of business. It's a good lesson in READ THE CONTRACT before you sign it. It's my lesson and it's going to cost me a lot of money. 3 Month Update: Protect America is a consumer scam. I have not changed my mind. Yes, they were willing to work with me on the alarm system--not canceling the contract-I have been that route before. I am not a technician and have no desire to spend hours on the phone with a piece of junk equipment that will fail within days if you are lucky enough to get it to work at all. |

Everyone was just so pushy and they didn't want to answer my questions until I committed to buying their system first. Finally, after calling Protect America, I got a really nice girl on the phone who answered all my questions. After hearing about her system and how it's the lowest monitoring rate, I decided to buy it. After all, she was the only person who gave me good customer service. She made my day! They really have the customer at heart. |
| (Added Jan 27/09) I had ordered a system off of Ebay a year ago... had NO help could NOT get it to work... ended up calling Protect America, and signed up for the Silver Package, GE Simon 3.4. Customer service has been good... some seem more knowledgeable then others but I got my system in fine. Two weeks after having the system in I have added a motion detector, wireless keypad.. (LOVE IT)!!! and two glass breakage modules.... they have been very helpful in getting the whole system working... I am very happy with them.... |

They will continue to charge you long after you have stopped service. Under no circumstances would I recommend this company to anyone. I encourage anyone wanting to do business with this company to research the reviews posted to the internet. If I can spare one person from falling victim to their shady way of conducting business than I have done my job. 3 Month Update: My issues with Protect America have not been resolved. They continue to be unresponsive to my emails and telephone calls. I am contemplating legal action against them. |

Their service has always been spectacular and they have always been very responsive. They even upgraded our old system last year when we renewed our contract. What a gem! They called my mother and I right after calling for an ambulance. She is in the hospital still, but doing okay. If it were not for that alarm, none of us would have known. I had to write this comment because my grandmother could have passed away if it were not for Protect America. I recommend this company to everybody! |

| (Added Dec 1/08) I am not one to write reviews, but Protect America's horrible customer service (if you can even use the word 'service') and total ineptitude demands that I warn others. This program is a total scam. They sign you up for three years with no cancellation option. The easiest way to verify for yourself how horrible this company treats their customers is to call their 800 number (800 951 5111) and compare the wait time between sales (press 1) and service (press 2). The wait time on sales is less than 10 seconds. The wait time on service can be in excess of 15 minutes. |
