(Added Oct 6/08) 5 year Contract, Installer spilled oil in our garage by the furnace, didn't clean it up, and moved the washer over it to hide it. Had the alarm accidently go off, and it took police 45min or more to get to our home. My girlfriend forgot to turn off the alarm this morning when she let the dog out, it took them over 10 minutes to call the house, and when they did they were rude. 5 year contract... =(

(Added Sept 30/08) I don't know how the company does regarding actual monitoring, but they continued to bill me for 3 months after I cancelled my service, refuse to acknowledge their mistake and have damaged my credit. I don't know if you can really trust the security of your home to a company that doesn't have good business practices.

(Added Sept 24/08) DO NOT BE FOOLED by their free/special offer. IT'S A LIE!!!!!! They told me that I was chosen to receive a free offer for the service as long as I agree to put up their sign in my front yard for advertisement. Next thing you know they ended up charging me $117 for installation, $47 for monthly service and $30 for a tech. to come out to fix anything even if it wasn't my fault. Not to mention a 3 year contract. Go with ADT or Brinks, it's soooo much more cheaper especially if you take the time to negotiate.

(Added May 27/08) I have the same nightmares!!!! I stop the service in Dec 07 after they would not send a new AC adapter. They are still billing even after I called and written for the cancellation. DO NOT use them!!! I now have ADT.

(Added May 26/08) I must say that Monitronic Alarm has lived up to it's name, a year ago I had someone break into my house one week after having installed my alarm. There response time was QUICK, cops were at my house in less then 3 minutes, I don't even want to think what would have happened if I did not have my Monitronic Alarm!! Thank you, Client in Arizona
