Each one of these Alarm Relay (aka Watchlight) customer reviews have been submitted anonymously by present or former clients.  Alarm Relay is a monitoring service only.  You must already have a functioning and compatible security system for the service to work.  Although a sales rep will meet you in person to set up your account, all technical tasks are the responsibility of the home (or business) owner.  Watchlight is a more traditional security company, focusing on sales, service, and installation.  Technically they are seperate companies, but are still owned by the same group.
(Added Nov 29/11) 4 year customer of Alarm Relay. The setup was easy and response time for alarms was excellent.  History: I started with Alarm Relay in 2006.  And exactly as other customers here have complained, they increased my rate each year.  Each year after an increase, I would call them and they would tell me that every now and then they increase the rate.  After 3 years of increases with the same excuses I realized that this is the company pricing strategy( increase price each year).  Yet they still advertise the $8.95 price to new customers.  The intro price is to get customers in and then increase the price and hope customers(who are too busy with life) won't complain or notice.  I cancelled and went with another company with similar service and price, but no history(complaints) of continuous price increases.  I can't believe that 5 years later they are still advertising the $8.95, but then increase the rate every year( as they other currents customer have posted.  I believe 5 years later Alarm Relay should just state to potential customers that prices will increase every year so they are aware. This was my only complaint/problem with AlarmRelay.com( Watchlight Corp).
(Added Oct 3/11) (Alarm Professional) I'm an alarm professional working for a national company, my company charges between $26 and $55 per month, and I'm proud of the service we provide our customers.  However I attend a small church that is trying to manage a huge set of buildings on a shoestring budget.  I found alarmrelay online, installed a system in the church and had them monitor it.  I have to say for the rate they charge I'm impressed.  I know my own company responds to most events within 1 minute, but I never expected that from alarm relay at the price they charge.  We've had some break-ins over the years and alarm relay has been spot on, twice allowing the police to catch the individuals responsible for the break-ins.  We've had their service for 3 years, and have no intentions of changing.  If your inclined toward installing your own system, I'd highly recommend them for monitoring.
(Added Aug 15/11) Just got started with  Alarm Relay today. The set up was painless. Did it over the phone in about 20 minutes. Very helpful and answered all my questions. I would definitely recommend Alarm Relay. I hope continues to be a good experience with Alarm Relay
(Added May 3/11) I switched from a local monitoring company to Alarm Relay to save some money back in June 2010. I have phone service through my cable company - which was mentioned at the time that I ordered and was assured I would not have ANY issues at all. I should have known better and canceled after the installation which took nearly 2 days. Anytime I tested my system over the last 10 months, signals were sent multiple times to the monitoring station. I asked them to troubleshoot this issue and they assured me someone from support would contact but never did.  About two days ago, we had some nasty storms come through our area and we lost power for quite some time. Contrary to what is listed on the website, Alarm Relay never called me in regards to losing power. I also received a call at 1 AM stating that my alarm went off (when it wasn't even armed) and was also informed that it showed it was from another account but with my phone number (?). I had no clue what this could mean but this was definitely the last straw. I canceled the next day, called my previous monitoring company (that was local and absolutely great during the time I had them) and setup service with them again.
(Added March 18/11) When I purchased my new home in 2006 I added a wireless alarm system I bought online. I then contacted a few monitoing companies and decided to try alarm relay. (watchlight) My old home we used ADT with their equipment and was expensive!  First year cost $8.95 a month plus setup fee. total of around $140. then $125 per year or $10.50 a month.  Then two years ago I added email notification for $6 a year, now it is $11 a month! I get email on my cell phone so I feel secure no matter where I am, at home asleep or away. As for the service I have been very pleased. We get a call everytime there is an event, a few accident alarms. If I simply disconnect one of the alarm sensors say to work on door or something without notifying we get a call right away.  They even sent the police when my detached shed door blew open one night! And most recently they called to check on us when they noticed the alarm had not been set for a few weeks. We have company and staying with us and had not been using the alarm. In the 5+ years I have had the service I have used it with regular phone line, DSL and cable internet. Worked fine no matter what.  Overall I think it is a good company and fine service for the money paid. This is the least expensive home service I have.
(Added Jan 26/11) Alarm Relay renewal scam.  This year, I caught what I assumed was a billing error on Alarm Relay's part.  I called them to notify them that they were charging me $10.45/month instead of the published rate of $8.95/month that they charged when I originally signed up.  This is the rate that is still published on their website.  The billing person told me that they had slowly upped my rate in previous years, and since I didn't catch it, I had to accept the higher rate.  When I insisted that the billing was incorrect, since there was nothing on the website that indicated this was a promotional rate, she went on to threaten to send me to collections (on an annual prepaid service), if I didn't accept the rate increase and pay up.  Assuming I had found the one bad apple, I followed up with a letter to give them one last chance to redeem themselves from their attempted fraudulent price increase and poor customer service, instead their response was to cancel my service.  Stay away from these scammers!  They charge a low rate to get you started, and will increase your rate every chance they get.

(Added Oct 29/10) When I say this company is off the hook, I mean good service, good price, I have been with this company for about six months, and I think that it is the best thing going for good service and price, and I repeat again, good service at a good price. So if you don't believe me check around and see for yourself all the price games they play for alarm service. So you see even if I'm off the hook I get very good service, the police is going to be called. So don't play yourself, get with this company, and keep it real. So Relay this hook up to anyone needing good service.
(Added July 26/10) We had service with Alarm Relay for about 2 years and for the most part I can't really complain.  The staff were always professional and definitely know their stuff.  However, we did have one problem that caused us to end our relationship.  My wife is a rape victim and her rapist also stalked her so needless to say we take security very seriously.  All of our doors and windows in our four story home have sensors, and all rooms other than the bathrooms have motion sensors.  In total we have over 35 different sensors to add in the protection of our family.  As part of a regular routine we also test the system at least once a month to ensure everything is operating properly.  However, when we called to place the system on test on morning the operator provided us with the passcode instead of asking us for the passcode.  His actual words where "your passcode is xxxx, correct?".  Needless to say we were blown away and had never had that happen with any company we have been with.  We acted like nothing was wrong but called back and spoke to Blanche (Monitoring Manager) and she assured us that the issue would be addressed immediately.  However, even then we felt as though we could be dealing with a major problem and still decided to switch to another company.  We are now with MyVirtualMonitoring.com who sources monitoring operations to National Monitoring Center (nmccentral.com).
(Added May 28/10) I've had Watchlight (Alarm Relay) for about 4 years now. They have been excellent. Response time after a alarm trigger has always been within 30secs. Very polite and professional staff. I have added numerous sensors after signing up and they have been nothing but helpful. No problems at all.
(Added Mar 22/10) (Updated Aug 4/10) I switched to Alarm Relay for the low price. Now I've been with them for 1 year, and I'm staying because of the GREAT service.  Every question gets a quick, and correct answer, whether by phone or e-mail.  I had ADT and SecurityLink before.  Even though the monitoring fee was more than double Alarm Relay's, the response time was not nearly as good (If you have a false alarm, the phone will be ringing to check on you faster than you can enter the 4-digit code to re-set the system, it's amazing).  I haven't taken advantage of it, but they offer a $25.00 referral fee if you send them a new customer.  Consider a year's service is just over $100.00, you could easily pay for your monitoring fee just by telling friend's about them.
Update:
I continue to use Alarm Relay (Watchlight) as my home alarm company. The price has stayed low, and the service has stayed perfect (far superior to when I had ADT, for less than 1/3 the monthly fee).  Harris Neil,
Denver, CO.
(Added Jan 31/10) I was customer of ADT since 2005 and had numerous customer service issues as many others can attest to. I cancelled my ATD services a few months back because they raised my monthly rate, yet again to $45/month and for what, they never even called when I had a battery alert on my console. The problem now was most security companies require that you upgrade your existing system to theirs, e.g. Alarm.com wanted to install a new GE system but none of my wireless sensors would work. So I would have had to shell out $1,200 to replace everything, and my system is only 4 years old.

So I found Alarm Relay, which is geared towards someone like myself, a DIY person. Alarm Relay would support my current system and allow me to expand it on my own. So I emailed them a request for service, the next morning I had a response with the 3 forms I needed to fill out. I filled them out that day, emailed them back and that afternoon I received a phone call from Alarm Relay wanting to schedule the configuration. We scheduled it for 1:30pm the next day, they called at 1:32pm and within 5 minutes my system was reconfigured, tested and ready to go. All I can say is WOW and all this for $8.95/month. The technician on the phone was courteous and a pleasure to deal with, never rushed me and answered all of my questions.  A+ for Alarm Relay!!!

(Added Oct 24/09) I have been with this company (also known as Watchlight Alarm) for about 8 months now.  3 months ago I started using the MyVirtualMonitoring.com BAT hardware inside my Vista 20p panel as well.  I am happy so far with this company.  I did the installation of the alarm myself, they are friendly to do-it-yourself types.  There were some initial setup problems.  It's a good measure of a company to see how they behave when things are not going smoothly... they performed okay, not great.  They had me take the RJ31X out of the mix, re-run new wire from the telephone NID, have the phone company come out and check the wiring from the street to my house, and modify some programming in the panel before they hit on the solution.  Turns out it was THEIR programming mistake.  Even though some unnecessary steps were done on my side, they did stick with me during the whole scenario offering suggestions that might work.

They call very quickly when there is a false alarm, and are always courteous.  Putting the system in test mode is not an issue either, they are always ready to help and assist with testing.  When I switched to using the BAT device instead of my home phone for dialout, they noticed the reporting format change (from 4+2 to ContactID) and reprogrammed the codes on their side.
(Added June 14/09) (Updated Oct 15/09) Have had monitoring through this company for just over a year. There is ALWAYS a live person that answers the phone. They are patient and understanding when there is a false alarm. Had 1 attempted burglary. They were quick to dispatch the police and let me know what was going on. This is the best deal in monitoring, especially after hearing horror stories from neighbors about other monitoring companies.
Update:
Still satisfied.
(Added Jan 26/09) After finally getting away from Save-On-My-Alarm, I tried Alarm Relay.  This is a QUALITY company.  No smooth-talking con artist here, just reliable monitoring at a fair price.  No double talking contracts or excessive unknown charges.  I have been with them for a month and am really pleased.
(Added Jan 12/09) I had previously been with a company in Arizona called Beware Security - definately need to be aware that it is a one man operation and by "man" I am being kind. He had a contract with my ex-husband and since he didn't get paid he started the phone conversation by shouting which I promptly ended by telling him to stop yelling and then I stopped talking - he eventually hung up. I ended that service and started Alarm Relay and have been delighted and not harrased! Every false alarm is checked and I have no complaints. The next cheapest service here was over $25 a month.
