We have had a very bad experience with Slomins.
A technician came to install the security system. He was in my home for over 8 hours, and he spent much of that time on the phone, taking breaks, or using the bathroom. When he finished, the equipment did not operate properly. He drilled holes in my hardwood floors and walls without asking my permission, and worst of all, he did not want to go through the effort of putting the hardwired fire detector on the first or second floor, so he put it up under the basement steps. When we complained, the company sent another technician to install the fire detector properly, which was good.
The system continually went off without provocation. So, in the middle of the night, they system would go off, waking us up... it would go off when we weren't home and the police were sent to our home. This made it inconvenient and too much trouble to use. After Slomins was unable to correct this problem, we stopped activating the system.
We attempted to cancel the contract, but like other people on this site, we were told we'd have to pay something like $2000 for the "free" equipment we were given. Right now, we are literally paying a monthly fee on a system that we don't use to ride out the contract. It's a complete waste of money.
