I just signed the 5 year contract with Slomin's.
My wife and I researched ADT and Brinks along with Slomin's. We had all three company's to our house to hear the pitch (all were from their respective corporate company's and not 3rd party vendors). We were fortunate, all three sales people were pleasant, attentive, and far from pushy (as many have complained about here). All three also knew there product, however, most did not know what their own contract read in the details. Thanks to this site and other avenues we were able to ask questions and follow it up with a line-by-line review of the contracts.
It was in our best interest to choose Slomin's for our home but what it comes down to is READ THE CONTRACT. In any business, a signed contract is the final legal say, regardless of a sales promise. You need to weigh the pluses and minuses and decide what best fits your situation.
I may in the future have an issue with Slomin's and will write back to inform the readers, but, for now we are happy with our decision.
