Stay far away from this company. We signed up as a dealer and just never used their service, so after 16 -18 months of basicly paying for nothing, I called in to cancel. (Don't take this wrong I had no problem paying the monthly fees) I talked with a CS rep and he gave me Dave *****'s phone number. Called Dave and explained to him that we signed up to be dealer but we really never pursued the security business and asked him how to cancel. He quickly gave me a long conf. number and told me to wait on an email, print it, sign it and fax it back. I did this with out reading all of the #8 font legal jargon, basicly because the first 1/2 of the page deals with accounts you may have being monitored and what will happen to them, consequences, and so forth. Call me ignorant for not reading the rest but really who ever does, you just expect that you are dealing with an upfront and honest company. In fact most companies, including my own, will inform their customer that their are penalties, or at the minimum ask them to stay on by offering some incentive. Not Dave, he was happy to give me the cancellation number.
So the next day I get a charge on my card for $500.00. So I call Dave and he goes on to tell me that it was in my original contract (by the way the cancellation page only references the original contract), so I asked him if I could could just resign and finish out my contract, the answer was a quick and stern no. In fact when I told him (and I was professional not angry) that I would have to dispute the charge with my credit card company he quickly told me that was fine and there would be a $1200.00 penalty for legal and collection fees. Then he flat out hung up the phone.
Believe me they do a great job of marketing to us who just want to save a few bucks, what they also do a great job at is really sticking it to you. Find an honest company and its not american digital alarms, or one of the many names they have for their company. I think its a shame that such smart people use their talents to make a buck in anyway possible, even if it means putting it to good, honest people. Dave ***** and associates, I hope you get back all you have given.
