I just have a few comments to make.  It's funny how these "STAY AWAY FROM PROTECT AMERICA" rants are so intellectually shy of a real complaint it cracks me up. There's simple reasoning behind these "flaming" complaints that go on for pages that people refuse to admit.

For instance, "They wouldn't let me cancel and that's PREPOSTEROUS".  Simple solution: Read your contract. in ANY situation. It's a simple answer, written notice, 30 days prior to end of contract. Really, how hard is that to comply with. It's the same with most top alarm companies. And you're getting (in most cases) a FREE alarm system, why would a company not want to "finance" that cost to you over 3 years at an affordable rate? Sure, pay whatever you want for the system up-front if you want the lower monthly rate. But god forbid think of it economically.

Example two: "Hard to reach technical support or CS".  Answer: Mostly wrong for the sole fact that every dept contacts the customer multiple times a day or week for their benefit to be assertive.

The sales people ARE aggressive. But just like any other sales rep with any other company, no one has "made" you do anything and you have control of what you do, even reading the contract that's right in front of you to verify what you get and your benefits.  If you ask me, if someone is complaining about contract length, price, or not being able to cancel or return equipment or, any of the most common complaints as those, it's completely naive of you to complain about your own shortcomings.Of course there are going to be bad customer service complaints and miscommunication errors, as with any company, you can't please everyone. Go checkout how many unresolved complaints DELL or ADT or any other major brand has.

If you get a good price, and happy with what you're being provided with, which is the piece of mind and security that you're choosing to go for, and it makes sense, do it. If not, don't complain about your own negligence.
