This is a true and accurate statement; I called Protect America to purchase an alarm for my home, talked with a Sales Manager, agreed on a system with numerous window and door sensors along with motion detectors and was promised free installation since I refused to install all of the equipment myself, then together we went through the contract online and I paid that same day.
I was also given a date for a technician to come to my home and install the system. It cost me over $500 up front and I was promised free installation, but the date for installation was set for a timeframe past the 5 to 7 business days to cancel the contract.
The date came for the technician to arrive and install the system and he never showed up. I called the company and they told me I never paid for a technician and that they could see on their computer that a date was set but it got cancelled somehow. They intentionally set a date for a technician to install the alarm past the date for cancellation. The salesman made his money and I got screwed in the process.
I wrote to the President of this company and all I get is numerous phone calls wanting to reschedule a date for installation, but this company can not be trusted to provide the service I need after the initial mistrust I will always have with them. I have an upopened box of alarm equipment they sent to me and I'm out over $500. They told me I have to pay for monitoring for 2 years and I will not pay them another dime and had to inform my bank of this situation to prevent Protect America from taking any monies from my account. They will never recieve another dime from me and I could care less if they turn the account over to a collection agency since I have never recieved any service from these people.
BEWARE of this company. they have untrustworthy sales people. I never got to the level of having them monitor my alarm and never will, so please do your homework before signing any contract with this company. It cost me over $500.
