Is it the cheapest monthly monitoring fee I could find: Yes
Are they unprofessional: Yes
The sales people are pushy, the installation and tech support people are unprofessional (you will hear joking, laughing, and loud music in the background when you call for tech support) but the monitoring people are always professional and curteous. Note, the monitoring company is different from the company you buy the stuff from.
They key to this company is understading the contract. You are locked in for the three or two years you sign up for. Canceling is also tricky, you need to submit in writing (with delivery confirmation) more than 60 days prior to your renewal date. If you do that, then you should have no problems. My system had issues, for example, I upgraded to 2.5 GHZ phone system in the house and the phone receiver was too close to the Simon (security system) box. That caused lots of beeping in the night and "sesor failures". The cutomer support did send me a new box before I figured out that it was the phone causing the problem. They have also sent me new sensors if I've ever had a problem with one.
