I went with Protect America because I did not want to spend alot of money for my rental property I was using it for. It does do the job, however, I must say that they are not truthful on the their website when it comes to comparing themselves with competitors.
1st point - Their GE Simon 3 system is what you consider an over the shelf non-professional grade system, that is why you can set it up yourself with out a professional technician or programmer. I am surprised Walmart does not sell that system. GE does have great alarm equipment but not the system PA installs which is GE's bottom shelf system. Since it is very inexpensive at cost that is why PA gives out so much equipment for little $$$. It does not even have a LCD display (HINT). Also if you rip there system off the wall it is defeated since it is a self contained unit. Why don't they have other system options like most other companies, I don't know! You are not comparing apple to apples when comparing them to ANY of their competitors. They sure like to say they "have the best equipment". . . . BS!
Point 2 - They say their competitors only have 1 monitoring option. ADT especially has every option you can think of even beyond PA. PA's marketing scheme preys on people that don't do research. That is why they talk bad about their competitors in almost everything you read. There are plenty of companies that can offer the same as PA's monitoring but not the same amount of equipment at that cost because most companies choose not to install the GE SIMON 3 bottom shelf system.
Conclusion - PA is great if you don't care about what system you get and are on a extremely low budget. That is for equipment only. As far as monitoring they are the same as their competitors.
