I have had my system for two years and the service has been great. I had this installed by a local company here in AZ and signed a 24 month contract. Yes, there are 24 month deals out there (Armour Alarm in AZ).
I actually read my contract as well and asked the right questions when I signed up. It says you must provide 60 days notice before the end of the contract to cancel it. You can even send in the notice right after you sign up so you won't forget. If you get the notice in on time you should also know that they will call you to verify your intent to cancel just before the contract is up. They want to keep your business and will negotiate a new monitoring contract at a much lower price. Their reps are very helpful and will go back and forth with you until you get a reasonable price.
$12.95 per month, 1 month free and a free accessory is what they finally offered me.
I accepted immediately.
