I got a knock on the door tonight from Platinum Protection monitored by Monitronics, and it couldn't have gone better.
Yes, the sales pitch was a little high pressure and the installation was immediate - that took me by surprise. However, I feel like in the end I got a good deal on the products and service. If all happens according to the contract, I pay a $99 installation fee and $44.99 a month. All of the brand new equipment they installed was free (2 fire/smoke detectors, a glass break detector, door sensors, motion detector, and the unit itself.)
Plus, for people like me who don't have a land line, the cellular connection is ideal. I've just bought a house and been getting junk mail every day of the week for one home security system or another and Platinum's pricing was competitive with lots of free goodies AND I'm not required to have a landline or pay extra for cellular monitoring.
My experience tonight was 100% professional from start to finish...and it includes a lifetime warranty on the system. If anything goes wrong, like other people have written I've always got a lawyer...
