Platinum Alarm System Failures:
7/2/08
System installed
8/3/08
System giving false alarms, neighbor called instead of our home phone, my cell, or my wife's cell.
8/5/08
Service Rep. could find nothing wrong with the system, reset it and left.
8/7/08
More false alarms, kitchen door alarmed, (door was closed and no reason for the false alarm). Our neighbor was still being called instead of us.
8/10/08
System's panel making beeping noises and the alarm could not be set at all.
8/12/08
Service Rep. replaced the alarm's panel and the kitchen door sensor.
8/14/08
The police responded to the house for another false alarm.
8/19/08
Yet another false alarm, this time the garage door was in alarm. And, again our neighbor was called instead of us.
8/23/08
Another false alarm for the garage door, neighbor called.
Called Tech support to find out what is going on with the system, cleared the alarm for the garage door, but it returned. An appointment was set for the repairmen to fix the system once again. While on the phone I found that the siren that was supposed to go off was silenced in the system's programming. I had our neighbor's phone number removed from our call list. And, you guessed it she got another call at 12:25 pm that same day and the alarm was not even set.
8/25/08
Our poor neighbor was called again by the monitoring company, the alarm system was off.
8/26/08
Repairmen found the garage door sensor had a loose wire. Replaced the senor, still had problems and had to replace the magnet pick up on the door. Called customer service again to check on contact phone numbers, Platinum said that they had removed our neighbor's phone number. They gave me the phone number for Monitronics (who does the monitoring of the system). When I contact them about the contact phone numbers, our neighbors were first on the list to be called after our home phone number. I once again had our neighbor's phone number removed; apparently Platinum never passed the removal of our neighbor's phone number to their monitoring company. They did not even have my cell phone number, which was originally set to be called first after our home phone.
Have found that Platinum's system will lock out the phone line it is hooked to when the system alarms. So, they can't call our home phone. The entire system can easily be bypassed by simply cutting the phone line to the house. Apparently Platinum does not monitor the system to see if the phone line is connected and working.

Once again Platinum's alarm system has FAILED! The garage door sensor will not reset and I have put in another request a service call. This will be the fifth time Platinum's alarm system has been serviced.
