Review For Pinnacle Security (Con't)
Pinnacle Security is based in Utah, but have clients across the country.  This is another alarm company known for their door to door sales technique.  Pinnacle's monitoring is provided by alarm.com, SAI (Security Associates International) and ADT.  Therefore, Pinnacle will install your system, but your alarm will be monitored by a different company. If you have had a good or bad experience with a particular alarm company, please submit your review!  Reviews are only edited for spam and/or vulgar language. Thanks for submitting!

This company is a total ripoff!  Do not get an alarm system from them or you will regret it for the rest of your life!

I got my Pinnacle alarm system installed about two and a half years ago.  Two guys came to my door and said they were offering a special deal to a couple of the people in the neighborhood and that I would get my alarm installed for free.  I told them I was not the owner of the house but the alarm sounded like a good idea except the contract was too long for me.  They told me that they would shorten my contract from 36 month to 18 months and I agreed thinking this would be a great alarm system.  They told me that I would pay around 28.00-32.00 each month and that I would save a lot of money on my home owners insurance.  Turns out the actual amount I ended up paying was 70.00 and I only saved 1.00 a year on my insurance.  They encouraged me to forge the signature of the owner's name and came in to install the alarm the next day.  I set up my password and read the pamphlet and watched the dvd.

For the next couple of months, I went to work everyday using my remote to turn my system on and off.  One day I came home without turning my system off before I came into the house and wondered why my alarm wasn't working.  As it turns out, I've been going to work everyday for the last six months without my alarm ever being turned on because the remote does not work unless I'm standing right in front of the keypad.  I called the company to try to ask why the alarm was not working and they told me I was not using the remote right.  The  employees made it seem like it was my fault that their remote wasn't working and that I was stupid to understand their "complex"  alarm system.

From that day on I never used the alarm ever again.  A couple of months before my contract was up, my daughter accidentally presses the alarm button and that alarm would not stop no matter how many times I put in my security code, not even after I ripped it off the wall.  I finally had to call the company and found out that because of an error, my code security code was reset.  I was very pissed off that I wasn't even notified of this change that happened some ten months ago.

After the 18 months went by, I called the company and told them my contract was up.  They told me that because they were never informed by their employee of the change, and could not find the original contract I had to honor what their contract said for 36 months.  I was pissed off at this point and told them they could send me a bill for the rest of the 18 months left, they told me it was no problem.  Come next month and guess what, they're still taking the 70 bucks out of my checking account.  I called again and again in the next couple months because every month the same thing would "accidentally" happen as was told my a rep.  I finally had to put a check stop to that company and pay the 40.00 fee to get the company to never be able to access my account.  This battle has been going on for the last year and a half.

I recently filed for bankruptcy and got a claim from Pinnacle that says my contract with them was for six years!  Can you believe that, them cheating me out of my money for an alarm system that doesn't even work for six years!
