Review For Pinnacle Security (Con't)
Pinnacle Security is based in Utah, but have clients across the country.  This is another alarm company known for their door to door sales technique.  Pinnacle's monitoring is provided by alarm.com, SAI (Security Associates International) and ADT.  Therefore, Pinnacle will install your system, but your alarm will be monitored by a different company. If you have had a good or bad experience with a particular alarm company, please submit your review!  Reviews are only edited for spam and/or vulgar language. Thanks for submitting!

I, too, was snowed by a Pinnacle sales rep.

I should have known when he asked me to say that my contract with ADT was over. I told him that I was not going to lie, that I would tell them that I am at the tail end of my contract (2 more months to go) which was the truth. Pinnacle intalled the system and I was up until close to midnight while they finished. As I was going to bed I turned the alarm on and I kept getting a "low battery" message. I turned the alarm off and called the company the next day and told them I needed a response that day or I would exercise my right to rescind. I didn't get a call back from their technician so I faxed my cancellation twice.

I heard nothing from them but I continued to get call from the monitoring service, and my account was charged for the second month. I called numerous times and always was told someone in another department who wasn't available. I wasn't until July 9th that ***** told me that they have no record of me cancelling. So I faxed over the cancellation with proof of 2 successful faxes. ***** agreed to credit my account and I would allow someone to pick the system up from my doorstep. I thought I was being generous providing that their paper work allows me dispose of the equipment if I don't hear from them within 20 days. Allowing anyone from Pinnacle in my house was out of the question at this point. August 9th I get a registered letter telling me to return the equipment or they will charge my account $600. A number of painful calls have continued. One telling me that they started the clock July 9th. Another telling me that the call from "chip" trying to get me to stay was the call getting the equipment and they "don't have record of my return voicemail". Of course this was after the same representative agreed that they had no record of anyone trying to get the equipment before July.

I am not sure what they are trying to get... the worthless equipment? Perhaps if I send it back they will say it isn't in good condition? How to deal with an unethical business. Any suggestions? I did NOT give them my SS#. DO I take pctures of the equipment and send it back? Do I sue? They clearly prey on people. I am amazed that a company like this can exist in this country.
