Review For Pinnacle Security (Con't)
Pinnacle Security is based in Utah, but have clients across the country.  This is another alarm company known for their door to door sales technique.  Pinnacle's monitoring is provided by alarm.com, SAI (Security Associates International) and ADT.  Therefore, Pinnacle will install your system, but your alarm will be monitored by a different company. If you have had a good or bad experience with a particular alarm company, please submit your review!  Reviews are only edited for spam and/or vulgar language. Thanks for submitting!

At first I was very pleased with this company. Then I realized the system had not been programmed as I had requested and the rep had agreed to.

I was told I could program it myself and the company would "walk me through it". Sounded fine. When I called to be walked through the steps I was told it couldn't be done. I won't bore you with all the details. I was told conflicting things, had promises made that were not delivered on, did not get call backs, etc. So, I decided to exercise my three-day cancelation privilege.  All of a sudden I was getting callbacks, actually too many callbacks, verging on harrassment. Suddenly they figured out it was easy to reprogram the system to what I needed.

In the meantime, a local company installed their system (the exact same one) in my home to my specifications. They are charging $4 less a month for monitoring and also charged zero for the install. I am returning the alarm components to Pinnacle, but they are none too pleased with me, and have threatened to remove them from my home before the 30-day period specified in the contract. I have told them they have no legal right to do that and I will call the police. I have every intention of returning their components.

Biggest problem with the company is it's too big. It's a huge corporation that can be good if you have no problems with the equipment, but if you are beyond the 3-day cancelation period they don't seem to care very much anymore. You get shunted around and treated badly. I feel better with a local guy who is looking out for me. The local company uses the exact same monitoring company as Pinnacle -- which is Monitronics, and they seem to be very good.
