Pinnacle Security is based in Utah, but have clients across the country.  This is another alarm company known for their door to door sales technique.  Pinnacle's monitoring is provided by alarm.com, SAI (Security Associates International) and ADT.  Therefore, Pinnacle will install your system, but your alarm will be monitored by a different company. If you have had a good or bad experience with a particular alarm company, please submit your review!  Reviews are only edited for spam and/or vulgar language. Thanks for submitting!

A Pinnacle sales rep contacted me two days ago about installing a system. I kept asking for more time and that next week would be better because of my and my husband's work schedule. He insisted that they were only in the area this week, and I felt pressured to make a decision to have the install done in the next two days because their team of installation technicians would be out of the area.

I went ahead and set up the install for the following morning and the rep gave me an unsigned contract to hold onto until the tech arrives. On the front page of the contract, it talks about canceling within 3 days, but nothing about canceling after that. I was about to call the sales rep back to ask about it because he didn't disclose this information on his own. Then I sat down and began flipping through all of the carbon copies. It was on the inside page of the pink carbon copy at the very back of the contract! It said that it was a 3 year contract and canceling prior to the end of the term would require a $1,400 payment.

I immediately called the rep and he confirmed that cancelling before the 3 years requires payment in full. He also said that if I decide to cancel before the end of the term, I could call corporate and "negotiate" a smaller cancellation payment of $300-$400 "which is much more reasonable than the $1,400."

I cancelled the install and I've decided to spend some more time researching companies prior to making such a long term commitment.
