Pinnacle Security is based in Utah, but have clients across the country. This is another alarm company known for their door to door sales technique. Pinnacle's monitoring is provided by alarm.com, SAI (Security Associates International, recently bought out by Castlerock) and ADT. Therefore, Pinnacle will install your system, but your alarm will be monitored by a different company. In September of 2010, my 82 year old mother was solicited by Pinnacle Security and they installed a medical alert system in her home. She did not understand how to work the system, so she spoke with a supervisor on October 11, 2010. The company notes say that she did not understand the system and the supervisor tried to show her that the system was operational. She told them to remove the system. I was told by a supervisor when I called on October 11, 2011, that the company had not received a signal from my mothers system since November 8, 2010. They also stated that they contacted her on Feburary 24, 2011 and she told them that she no longer had the system. The company states that they have no record of the system being removed. It follows, the company knew that her system was not working, but she continued to rely on their system for life saving emergencies. Thank God she did not need this unworking system. During this time Pinacle Security continued to take her monthly payment out of her account. She paid $539.88 for a system that the company knew did not work. When dealing with the elderly, due care is a companies responsibility. Pinacle Security verified on November 2, 2011, that they have cancelled her contract and have refunded 4 months to her. They still kept $359.92 of the money they took from her account even though they confirmed that she did not have a signal from her home during that time. They said it was her responsibility to make sure the equipment worked properly. If you are reading this and have an elderly parent relying on Pinacle Security for help in an emergency, please make sure the equipment is working. Pinacle Systems will only make an automated call. As most people with common sense, we know that an elderly person with or with out hearing problems will hang up on a machine.
All facts that I have explained can be verified by Pinacle Security as I inquired that each phone conversation was being recorded.
