Review For Pinnacle Security (Con't)
Pinnacle Security is based in Utah, but have clients across the country.  This is another alarm company known for their door to door sales technique.  Pinnacle's monitoring is provided by alarm.com and SAI (Security Associates International).  Therefore, Pinnacle will install your system, but your alarm will be monitored by a different company. If you have had a good or bad experience with a particular alarm company, please submit your review!  Reviews are only edited for spam and/or vulgar language. Thanks for submitting your review!

What happened to our friend Sachiko is a horror story and we certainly would not recommend that anyone consider Pinnacle Security as their source for an alarm system.

Sachiko is a 75 year old widow living in Orangevale, California who unfortunately let a Pinnacle salesman into her home. Sachiko is in the near-advanced stage of Alzheimer's and was moving back to Japan February 24th to be with her family. As I write this today, she has moved back to Kagoshima, Japan.

The Salesman frightened her with stories about home invasions, robberies, rapes and other threats to old people. She was confused and ended up signing a 39 month contract for Pinnacle to install an alarm system. They charged her $99.00 for a PROMOTIONAL REP ACTIVATION FEE and $49.98 a month for the 39 months. She told them she was moving to Japan but this was totally ignored.

My wife called Sachiko one day and couldn't get hold of her. After repeated attempts we called our Son who drove over to see what was wrong and he called us. "Sachiko had someone install an alarm system in her house. I don't know when she had this done but it has to be recently"

I talked with Sachiko, trying to determine what she had done. I asked her, "Sachiko, when did you have the alarm system installed?" She said, "Last week".. I asked her who the company was that did the installation. She didn't know. I asked her what her password was to turn the system on and off. She didn't know. They had set up JAPAN as her password.

I then asked her, "Sachiko, if you have problems with the alarm system, who would you call?". I could hear a rustling of papers and she said, "I would call Matt".. I asked, "Sachiko, who is Matt?" and she told me it was the man who installed the system. It was Matt Boyd, evidently from Utah because he had an 801 cell phone number. The sales person, according to her contract was Brian whose phone number is 916-216-7193.

I called Matt on his cellphone and asked him why on earth Pinnacle would sell an alarm system to someone who obviously was confused and had cognitive problems. He told me he knew she had problems but he couldn't answer that question since he only installed their systems.

I found out that he had installed Sachiko's system the previous Saturday which meant it fell under California law which allows the customer to cancel a contract in three days. When I called it was the third day. He said she couldn't cancel the contract by telephone. After threatenting him with legal action he told me there is a form on her contract which had to be sent by FAX to cancel. I quickly drove to Sachiko's, found the FAX form, had her sign it; went home and wrote a letter to Pinnacle asking them to call me when they were removing the system so I could be there. They did not call.

Three days later we couldn't reach Sachiko again. Our Son went over and he was livid. Pinncale had gone to the house, 'tore' out the control panel from a finished wall leaving a 3" x 4" jagged hole in her sheetrock with screw holes pulled out. They left 3/4" holes in the door jambs and didn't fill them. They tore the contacts off her sliding doors leaving the double faced tape and scratches. The reason we couldn't call Sachiko was due to the fact they ripped the phone wire from the control system and broke the tab off the plug. They left, leaving her without a phone connection.

I called the Sacramento County Sheriff's office and the minute I said 'alarm system' she asked if it was Pinnacle Security. They are aware of what Pinnacle is doing in our area and she called it ELDER ABUSE. There are a number of complaints but they aren't able to do anything because Pinnacle hasn't broken any laws. They ARE being watched.

I also found out, had we not cancelled the contract on the third day that Sachiko would have to pay 75% of the total $1,949.22 contract. To later find out they sub-contract the security calls to another company is further proof that they are a bad company to deal with.. I wish I could transmit the pictures I took of the damage they caused.

To anyone who wants an alarm system, go to a recognized, legitimate company and READ THE FINE PRINT before you sign the contract...
