I setup two systems with NextAlarm recently.  First let me say unless you are familiar with how the system works and are comfortable repairing it I would suggest you find a local installer to setup everything. But if you already have a system installed and want to have it monitored or want to stop paying $30+/month for one of the big companies to monitor your alarm this is perfect. If you are going to get a new system let me suggest DSC and one with the full LCD keypad, its super easy to program and use!

The website is great, you can see the current status of your alarm and also a history of what sensors were triggered, what user armed or disarmed the system and any alerts, like loss of power or phone line.

Also the support is great as well, the only thing is they don't take phone calls, but from what I have seen they will call you back the same day or the following day. But each time they have called me everything was able to be resolved quickly. They obviously only hire experienced alarm techs and not once did it seem like they had to look up anything, they are quickly able to tell you what to do to get the system running. The first system I setup with then was brand new and had never been programmed and was not reporting most events, the tech actually took the time to dial-in to the system and setup everything.

If you are a geek and want to be fully hands on with your system this is without a doubt the company to be with. Also with the ABN system they have you can buy their adapter but, again for the geeks, you can get your own VoIP adapter and they will give you the settings for it. They claim they only support a few models but I've tried unsupported ones and they seem to work great as well. But if you just want to save money on your monitoring they can help you out as well and guide you through the phone on how to set it up.
