I have had good experiences with Monitronics for the past 5 years, in 2 different homes.

Their call center people have helped me fix a fault code, tested my alarm, explained an issue with my phone line, helped me reset the length of time to enter and exit and helped me to reset the volume of the promting voice - all on the phone with their tech support - step by step with me. I have also had good response time from them for calling and verifying false alarms set off by guests and on a couple of occasions by me.  This prevented false alarms being sent into the police department.  They have also walked me thru the process to clear the alarm system and reset it after an alarm.  I have had 2 good experiences with their independent installers.  My only issue has been one 10 plus minute hold time for their technical support.

3 Month Update:

I am not so sure they are as good as they used to be.  I have called several times because I set off the alarm and no one called me on any occasion, so I was worried about it.  They used to call every time the alarm was triggered. I called and they said it was too short too register on their system or I turned it off quickly, so they did not need to call, one time it went off for a couple of minutes before I realized it - and still no call from them.  I also called to test the alarm and they did not receive the signal at 1st and then the rep said, oh I see it now, after it should have been on their system for over a minute, not confidence inspiring.  I would say their reps now have a "I really don't care too much you are bothering me, let me yawn while you are talking to me"  attitude.   They used to be better and more professional. I have had their service in 2 homes and for 7 years.  My prior review was much better and I certainly have no agenda, just concern for what has been a genuine drop in their staff and service quality.  I do not feel safe with their service and that is really the only reason to have an alarm is to feel safe.
