Recent Review For Monitronics Alarms (con't):
Each one of these customer reviews have been submitted anonymously by present or former Monitronics alarm clients, and only edited for spam and/or vulgar language.  Please remember that many of these companies have thousands of other clients that may or may not be happy with their service, and this is only a small sampling of the opinions of their customers.  If you have had a good or bad experience with a particular alarm company, please submit your review!
Important Note: Monitronics has a "sub dealer" program.  This means that a local dealer installs your system, and Monitronics monitors it for you.  If you submit a review, please be sure to add the local company you dealt with, the city and state/province.

I initially signed up for alarm service through a distributor named Alarm One. Despite the fact that Alarm One misrepresented their product and service to sell me a three year contract, I continued with the service cause Monitronics said they pick up the contracts soon after Alarm One sells the contracts.  (Note From Admin: Alarm One now subcontracts its monitoring service with ADT)

Monitronics could not live up to the service they said they would provide, even with the warranty! The alarm system in my house started to cost me more than the $30+ dollars per month that Monotronics was charging me, because the system was going off for no reason and the police were called on several occasions.

Finally I got tired of all the issues and disconnected the alarm system; if you all know how alarm systems work Monotronics tell you that if the system is turned off for any reason, they are notified and they make a call, they did not. I tried several times to cancel the BAD SERVICE, but they threatened they would push the agreement. I continued to pay for two years without service.

After the contract expired, I have called, faxed, called, faxed I don't know how many times and they keep saying they did not get anything! Finally in January they admitted they got a FAX, but that they would still charge for February 2002. It is March 16th, I called my bank and they still are trying to process a charge for the month of March 2004.
