Recent Review For T.J. Security:
I purchased a house with an alarm installed by T.J. SECURITY and am very satisfied with the system and the service. I had dealt with ADT at a previous home and had nothing but problems. I would highly recommend T.J. SECURITY.

Recent Reviews For OSA Systems:
When I started shopping for an alarm company, I was focused on the national companies. But after talking with Dave from OSA, I was immediately impressed. Dave came to our house for an initial evaluation of my family's needs. He spent almost 2 hours answering all of the questions my wife and I had, all for free as part of the initial visit. He provided a written quote that was well priced and included quality components. Dave and his assistant did a great job with the install. Very clean, efficient, and the total cost matched the quote. We've been using OSA for over 2 years now and we've had no problems. I would highly recommend OSA to all!!

We recently had our home protected with an alarm system which was installed by Dave from OSA Systems.  They are located in Cranford NJ.  While we had many estimates and meetings with the big security names like ADT and Slomans, we were given a much more personalized service with Dave.  He was very clean and professional during the time he worked in our home.  He was also very patient with us during the selling process and more importantly with the training at the end of the installation.  Two thumbs up. I would highly recommend them if you are their area.

I contacted O.S.A Systems a few months ago for a full assessment and estimate.  Dave ******, the owner, has been patient, professional, and a pleasure to deal with since day one.  He is responsive, knowledgeable and thorough.  He does not try to push features you don't need--very straightforward!  It was daunting for us to understand all the various aspects of home security systems and companies.  It was a relief to find someone local to walk us through every step of the process.  I have already told several friends and family about O.S.A.  I highly recommend him.

I am so angry I could spit nails. There isn't one good thing I can think of to say about the ADT company or it's alarm system.  Now I am stuck with 3 year contract.
My intuition had warned me I disregarded it. I was so shook up about crime issue recently occurring in area I jumped without looking.

The installer did a horrible job. He works for Eversafe Security and not directly for ADT.  Won't get into particulars but I know bad workmanship in regards to communications equipment it is really bad.
System stopped working on 3rd day still waiting for call bk from ADT to schedule tech to come out been 24 hours so far.  Found out tech lives 2 hours away so there is no way he is going to be easy to get out here.  He is going to lose money on this call for sure.

I am considering reporting ADT to NYS Attorney General.  The AG is going after companies with such practices as ADT has. I hope I get somewhere.
I have a friend who is a lawyer I am also going to contact her to see if there is any way I can get out of this contract. I hope so, I am disabled on a limited fixed income.  Wish me luck.
I am so very very sorry I didn't look up reviews before going with them.

I emailed a request to ADT to have two alarms installed. They sent my request to Eversafe & the mess began. The installer was terrible. he wanted to charge more than the salesperson said it would cost. I called the salesperson & we resolved the issue, but the installer was very unhappy & complained about the company. He was lazy & wanted to do as little as possible. We didn't even have him install the second alarm. After many complaints Eversafe sent out a different installer who was much better.
I was told both of my accounts would be serviced by ADT. Unfortunately this was not accurate. The contract was never given to ADT and I remained under Eversafe.(not a good thing).
I then received a call from my salesperson who said someone needed to come check my system. There was a concern that the installer gave us the wrong one. When I returned the call it seemed no one wanted to be bothered. I explained about the phone call and the response was,"Well is it working?" I said I guess so I'm not on that end. They had someone come and check so I guess it works!!
Now I have complained endlessly to be turned over to ADT. (Also withheld payment to attempt to be let go) & their response has be to cancel my contract & demand full pmt. I've explained everything to ADT who says they can do nothing with their "Authorized Dealer" however if I wish to wait 90 days they will reinstall & take care of my account.
I'm checking on Front Point, an alarm dealer recommended by some in the Chamber.
Beware of Eversafe. Check everything they tell you.
Oh yes I do believe they are now doing business under another name. Safe Streets USA. Be careful.

I contacted ADT last week to install a home alarm. First of all the salesrep was very pushy. Since I had shopped around ADT seemed like my best bet so I decided to schedule the install regardless of the salesrep on the phone. Sat 02/26 was my install date. On Saturday a man called me stating that he was on his way to my house. I was extremely skeptical since the man could not even speak English. He pulled up to my house in a beat up Jeep. Mind you ADT used an outside company, Eversafe security to do the install. Once he arrived he starting explaining to me that we need to cut all kinds of holes in my walls. NO rep told me that this had to be done. They said since its through my cell phone, it was "WIRELESS". Thats a bunch of bull. Regardless, when he was trying to figure out where to put the alarm panel, he decided it was best to put the panel inside a cabinet. A CABINET?? IN MY DINING ROOM?? ARE YOU ********** KIDDING ME?? Does it make sense to walk through the living room, through the dining room, then open a cabinet to set my alarm?? Give me a break people. Get your **** together people. DONT USE ADT. I cancelled my install and would never THINK of using this company. UGH!!!

(Added Dec 30/09)
(Updated May 10/10) In July 2009 I went online to the ADT website and asked for a home security system to be installed in our new home.  ADT sent their dealers Eversafe who promptly took my credit card number and charged $99 and left saying everything was working. In the first week we suspected the system was not working.  When we called Eversafe they responded saying first week is a testing period and it would not work.  After that every time we go out we religiously arm and and disarm the system until Thanksgiving Day. We forgot to disarm the system and no one called us.

When we called ADT they tested the system and said our system was not working and to come out they would charge $158 an hour. They asked us to contact Eversafe who refused any service after first three months.  I wanted to cancel the system but they would not allow me to do that saying I have signed a three year contract.  I called the credit card company and put a hold on all the payments I made since installation.  Then ADT called me and sent their Technician.  This man tested the system and said it was never connected to ADT security at any time and also showed us how the Eversafe Technician messed up our wiring system in our new house.  He could not fix the problem and he said he would have to bring an expert to set it right.  The next week he came with an expert as promised and they took the old system out and installed a new system and showed us it was working.

In the meantime, Eversafe called and wanted to send their Technician because I was disputing their charges too.  ADT Technician asked me not let the Eversafe man in and said I could release their money as they would settle it among themselves.  Also when I asked about the credit for all the months I paid without a working system being installed, he said, if I call ADT they would credit me all that money.  To my dismay, ADT reveresed all the charges on 12/28/2009 with my credit card company and started charging me as if nothing happened.  When I asked for the credit, they said I should call Eversafe.  When I called Eversafe, they refused to honor my request.  If you see in the ADT website, they have advertised saying if we are not happy with their system we can cancel it within 6 months.  When I asked them to cancel it, ADT said, since it was their dealer who fixed the system, this clause does not apply.  I never went to their dealer.  I went to ADT and they sent their dealer.

The bottom line is, ADT and their dealers install a toy to pretend as if it is working. Once you sign a contract there is no way out.  I am contemplating taking both ADT and Eversafe to small claims court in New Jersey. Beware of these scammers!
Update:
The problem has been resolved and I am extremely happy with the professional way in which the staff handled this after I complained.  Though I wish this never happened, I am glad that ADT is willing to rectify the deficiences.

Avoid Intruder Alert no matter what.  They can cause problems that I would not have even imagined possible.  Any other company would have to be better.  It seems as if they want to make money by deliberately misleading customers, rather than helping.
