Please note the fact that a large number of companies in the security industry use the word "Guardian" in their business name. Our respondents may or may not be referring to "Guardian Protection Services, Inc".
I am in the Army and before my second deployment to Iraq, we relocated to San Antonio, TX. My wife would be alone for the whole year and we already had an installed system in our house by Guardian so we met with a salesman about activating the system.
We met with ***** ******(sales rep) who seemed very nice and forthright. We specifically asked about the military and that my orders could change before the three year agreement was up. ***** assurred us that the Soldiers and Sailors Civil Relief Act (SSCRA) covered us and we would have no problem getting out of the contract if I came on orders.
Well, the unexpected happened and I am PCSing shortly and they are not letting me out of the contract. Granted I should have insisted of having it in writing but the salesman assured me it wasn't necessary and I was covered under the SSCRA. I spoke with a manager named ****** ***** who basically said too bad and we don't trust you. They also stated that ***** ****** no longer works for the company and they cannot be responsible for the actions of the their salesmen.
Bottom line the company lacks integrity and does not support the needs of U.S. service members. Even if a salesman does not work for the company their promises must be honored.
I am in the process of speaking with JAG about this company to warn other service members to avoid this money hunger company.
