Guardian Protection Services is considered a super-regional company, concentrating its work in the following areas: Phoenix, Arizona; Delaware; Orlando and Tampa, Florida; Indiana; Chicago, Illinois; southern Maryland; North Carolina; western New York; Ohio; eastern and western Pennsylvania; Raleigh, South Carolina; Texas; northern Virginia; Sheboygan, Wisconsin and the panhandle of West Virginia. It is also important that you note the logo on the right, to ensure you are submitting a review for the correct alarm company.

Please note the fact that a large number of companies in the security industry use the word "Guardian" in their business name. Our respondents may or may not be referring to "Guardian Protection Services, Inc".
Not long ago I discovered this site and found it rather interesting because it seems that every company on here has the same issues. Not everything is perfect with these companies, but I think we lose sight of the fact that they ARE a business.
I have worked for Guardian for some time now, and I have encountered every type of issue that has been listed. I am not an advocate nor an antagonist by any means, I just would like to speak my mind, as you all have. I can not stress the importance of reading what you sign. We all know salesmen wheel and deal, because that is exactly what they are supposed to do, but if something doesn't make sense, or you would like to think it over with out the sales rep. there please speak up. We provide the monitoring service for the equipment you paid for. Much like your car, it will need serviced from time to time. I do highly suggest looking into an ERA (extended repair agreement) with any new agreement (or if you are in renewal, you can negotiate adding this if you are willing to sign another agreement). It works much like a copay for the doctors office. This covers normal wear and tear i.e. devices that just false, or quit working on their own. $25 copay will cover the cost of the service call, plus any equipment that may need replaced. As for phonelines... I mentioned before that we provide the monitoring for your system and reading what you sign, yes, your agreement does state that the customer must provide the phoneline in order for us to properly monitor it. This goes for all companies. If you would like to opt out of a landline we do offer cellular back up units. In any case, the phoneline is not something we can provide, thus it is the responsibility of the customer to let us know prior to any changes, so we can advise accordingly. I would like to take the time out to warm you all that if you are thinking about going to Vonage or magicjack, please research. The price may be right, but what are you losing in the long run? The Vonage website states at the bottom that it does not work with security system.
Finally, anything I said above would apply to any company. As I said above, I am not here to sell the perks of the company, nor am I here to bash them, just spreading some info from one Guardian customer to the next. I have been a customer of theirs far longer than I have been an employee so I understand both sides of the coin. Thanks.
