Frontpoint Security is one of Alarm.Com's largest sub dealers, serving the ever-growing "do it yourself" crowd since 2007.  Frontpoint can deliver the equipment you need, but you are responsible for installing it. Frontpoint will set up the cellular monitoring service with Alarm.Com on your behalf.

As you browse through the Frontpoint reviews on this page, keep in mind that most national alarm companies have thousands of customers who may or may not be happy with their service. This is only a small sampling of the opinions of Frontpoint's customers.  If you have a good or bad experience with any alarm provider, please submit your review.  Reviews are only edited for vulgar language and spam.
(Added May 2/12) This is to me so far, after ALOT of research way ahead of ADT and everyone else...cellular monitoring for 35 a month is way lower than ADT or anyone for that matter.i pay 43 but have phone and computer apps i can monitor my home from anywhere and see when doors open, motion triggered etc.equipment has not failed and customer service prompt.GREAT Company..my 30 day trial is up..i am keeping...try this company and if you dont like the system they pay for the return postage...you wont need to and ADT is a rip off....i had them here first to take a look...
(Added Nov 16/11) The best of the best. 5 star rating from me. Basically "Stupid Proof" installation so simple that a 6 year old could do it. Cheapest price for monitoring the system as well as the best price on the equipment. Cellular monitoring. Cut phone lines, cut cable lines, or smashed control panels do not make system out of service. A disarm signal must be sent within 45 seconds of a break in the system (door or window opening) or the authorities are notified. Smashing the panel won't let you send the disarm signal so authorities are notified. You are notified of any break in the system. If there is any problem with any component, a new one is overnighted to you. Mount the control panel with screws and anchors not double faced tape. 30 minute install and activate for anyone.
(Added Jan 17/11) We have had Front Point for over a year and are very satisfied with them. They are cheaper for monitoring than other systems and about the same price for equipment. You hear one alarm company advertising that they give you a free key fob to turn on and off your alarm system but Front Point gives you 2 free. I researched almost all systems before settling on Front Point and they were by far the best considering price and equipment. Some systems advertise that the equipment is free but they only furnish 1 door and 2 window contacts and then charge you a high price for the rest of the equipment. I have never seen a house with only 1 door and 2 windows. They check your system daily, don't run over your telephone or cable lines, are wireless for calling in alarms, and the system in the house is wireless and virtually maintenance free. If someone breaks in and smashes the control box thinking this will disable the system, they are wrong as Front Point notifies both you and the Police if the alarm code is not entered within a set time. I did sign up for a 3 year contract for monitoring and will be renewing it at the end of the 3 years. It is also extremely easy to check on your system by using the internet. My brother-in-law had ADT and switched to Front Point when his contract was up.
(Added Dec 27/10) Frontpoint Security is an awesome company! I have been with them for almost 2 years and have signed up about 6 others via my testimony about the system (and the others are well satisfied as well).  Pros about the system include the text alerts, online notifications, and live video abilities.  Their staff is top notched and always willing to help you with technical issues. Additional components for system can be added to your initial system. Their sales staff has a no/low pressure sales pitch (for 3 weeks before I purchased system I was emailing my questions directly to the vice-president who answered me back personally). They answered all my questions before I bought the system. And their prices are really competitive! I've got nothing bad to say about the company or the system.
(Added Dec 26/10) We are currently rehabbing an old house, and have been burlarized 5 times before installing the Front Point System.  Since installing, we have had three false alarms. One, because one of the sensors had fallen down, and the other two were apparently from a faulty sensor, which they are replacing.  Because of these false alarms, we had a chance to actually test out the service which is amazing!  I am completely pleased, and would, and have recommended it to others.  First, because it does not have to be hard-wired, we do not have to have a phone in place at the house, so that is a savings, and second, the respone to the alarm, though false, was immediate and exactly what one would expect from a security service.
(Added Dec 24/10) Very good customer service, the equipment is easy to set up and very reliable.  I had a few issues to work through w/the initial set-up, nothing major, however, everyone was very helpful and very informative in resolving the issues. I priced many providers, Frontpoint is very competitive if you're willing to sign a contract - the longer the better.  The only item I would like improved is the fire service; I was told that the service is not monitored and the Fire/Carbon Monoxide sensors are very, very expensive.
(Added Nov 24/10) (Rebuttal Added Dec 10/10) I tried this all-in-one DIY system. I got it quickly and installed it myself. The product is flimsy and the motion detectors only work if a person is within 5 feet of the sensor. The sensors are all stick on with pads. The pads didn't stay put on my painted surfaces. The remote monitoring is a nice feature. However, their phone application doesn't work with my BB Storm. After 3 hours, I was dissatisfied with the system and called to get a refund. They had a 30-day risk free trial. I got the return authorization very quickly. We'll see if they do cancel the contract as represented.
Rebuttal:
We regret that this customer had an unsatisfactory experience with our motion sensors and mobile apps.  FrontPoint provides the latest model GE alarm panel (the Simon XT), which is a robust security platform used by a number of the top alarm companies across the US. We also offer the full range of GE's wireless sensors - including their proven and most popular PIR motion detector, which has a UL-certified range in excess of 30 feet.  We are confident that any issues with the motion detectors (or their installation) could be resolved in consultation with our Customer Support team, if provided the chance.  The high-grade 3M adhesive we provide has been working on tens of thousands of sensors for several years, though it does help when they are applied to clean surface - something else we advise customers about: when a situation such as this arises, we provide additional adhesive at no charge.  On the topic of mobile apps, FrontPoint is proud to offer apps for all iPhones, Android phones, and nearly every BlackBerry model.  While we regret that currently we do not have an app for the BlackBerry Storm, we do anticipate having one in the future.  In the meantime, our generic mobile site can be accessed from any internet-enabled mobile device.

Finally, we offer a 30-day risk free trial period (including free shipping both ways) so that all our customers have the opportunity to test our system to their satisfaction. This  policy, in combination with the flexibility of a 1, 2, or 3 year monitoring agreement, sets us apart from other alarm service providers. If we had this customer's name, we could confirm the cancellation of the agreement, but in the rare instance when a system is returned, the process is very efficient.  We thank this customer for providing valuable feedback, and for the opportunity to address these issues.
(Added Oct 27/10) I bought this totally wireless, cellular based system from FrontPoint Security after considerable research. The customer service was excellent and the people took time to answer my very detailed and specific questions. The installation was a breeze. Only the outdoor motion sensors took a little time. I have external motion sensors, internal motion sensors, water and fire/smoke sensory all wirelessly connected. I have had excellent service from FrontPoint as well as Alarm.com who are monitoring service. I love the iphone app that can remotely control the entire system. I would recommend this company whole heartedly. They would love to lock you into a 3 year contract but I gave up the rebate and took only the one year contract just to try it out. So far I am pleased.
(Added Oct 27/10) (Rebuttal Added Nov 16/11) The alarm system installed by Frontpoint Security does not report status correctly as advertised for alarm.com online monitoring. The system is defective and I have worked with them for months yet the company is not able to provide a working system. The company has not and still is not able to fix the problem after months. The sensor once triggered will not restore status on alarm.com for remote monitoring. This makes remote monitoring useless. The company is slow to respond. I have worked with them for 3 and almost 4 months now, and it can be easily duplicated. So I think it is a company wide problem and related to alarm.com Consumers should be advised not to purchase alarm systems from this company until proper fixes are applied.
Rebuttal:
I am representative of FrontPoint Security, and we appreciate the opportunity to respond. We have worked extensively with this customer and are confident that (with assistance from alarm.com) we have resolved the problem. It happens that Alarm.com had a programming anomaly related to the online reporting by the outdoor motion sensors.  The customer website would not display the restoral (i.e. the sensor going idle) for sensors programmed into that particular programming group (#25).  This affected all Alarm.com accounts that offer Advanced Interactive (not just FrontPoint's subscribers).  FrontPoint worked consistently to resolve this issue, offering free replacements for the outdoor motion sensors and the control panel.  It did take some time to resolve the problem (partially because the system was at a second home, so progress happened only every few weekends), and the customer who experienced this issue was offered a full refund for the months that were affected, even though this issue impacted only one small part of the overall diverse and powerful FrontPoint system.  Note also that this problem in no way affected intrusion detection or reporting: it only affected the online view of one of our 15 different types of devices offered.
