Recent Customer Review For Firstline Security:
Firstline Security is one of the larger "sub-dealer" alarm companies.  That means if you become a Firstline client, your system will be installed by Firstline, but monitored by a different company.  Depending on where you live, you could be monitored by Alarm.Com, Monitronics, Counterforce, Alarm Services, or SAI (Security Associates International.

I, too, thought I was done with Firstline Security. On June 1, 2009 I received a letter from "Alarm Services" stating they are going to start billing forward with the authority from John Atkinson, CFO, Firstline Security, Inc., starting June 2009 and collecting on open contracts with Firstline Security. There is no address under the heading with their name, only a phone # to call and update you billing information.

Per Cindy Dudley being interviewed, Better Business Bureau states Firstline Security was not licensed to do business in California. Rated F.

Firstline Security did not have the proper license permits to solicit selling home security alarms in the State of California back in 2007 until they went bankrupt on January 25, 2008, Chapter 11. On June 8th, 2007, some quick talking college students duped me into changing my monitoring service from ADT to SAI. The very next day, June 9th, 2007, Firstline Security college students, **** **** and ****** ******, swarmed and enticed me away from SAI with an even lower monthly billing ($29.99) and swayed me to go with Firstline. They had someone at my house in 20 minutes changing out my ADT control panel to theirs (GE) and would notify ADT. SAI never did any work inside or out. Firstline notified SAI and ADT of the cancellation of their service. I was too embarrassed to do it. I should have called, ADT may have talked me out of leaving and saved me the hassles. It took Firstline 5 trips (and lost work time for me) to finally get the system workable. One morning I set the back door alarm off, I immediately shut the door and waited for the alarm company to call me. No one ever called. ADT would have called. I called 2 hours later (866-434-7785) and was informed that the alarm would not notify the alarm monitoring center if the alarm sounded for less than 30 seconds. I later found out the alarm was not properly connected and would not have signaled the alarm monitoring center anyway. I was one of the lucky customers after reading all the billing horror stories other customers had. When signing the contract, I did not give them a credit card/debit card number. They were strictly to bill my address, no debit deductions. I did not give them my social security # even thought they asked for it. I didn't know these people to be passing out my personal information that day.

After several months of not receiving a bill, I called many times and was put on hold for up to 10 minutes at a time. When a Firstline representative finally would answer they would "tell" me to hold and then I'd be there for another 5-10 minutes again. I would be furious each time and my dislike for these people mounted. The customer service people were rude, rude, and rude. All I could get out of them was that the bill would be coming soon. I never could find who the monitoring service company was, no one could tell me, the rude people would tell me to contact my sales representative. I did and they would never call me back. The only answering phone # I had was 866-434-7785.

In October 2007, a salesman (******) with Firstline Security did call me and said he was going to send me a trail wireless Internet service for 30 days. Did not receive. In December 2007, he called again feeling so bad and promised to send again, did not receive. By early January, I heard rumors of Firstline Security going Chapter 11 and started making phone calls. I called numerous, numerous, numerous times and left messages galore to call me. NEVER did I hear back from Firstline Security until May 6, 2008 when I received the wireless Internet connection box in the mail. I refused it and sent it back.

Now, June 1, 2009, 1-1/2 years later I received this letter in the mail from ALARM SERVICES that they will be billing from June 2009 on for monitoring services. They want $371.00 to end the contract or keep billing for the final 1 year of the 36 month contract with Firstline Security which adds up to $371.00 for the 12 months. I left 2 messages on whose ever phone voicemail I could get, I declared the service as cancelled as of June 1st, 2009 and to call me as soon as possible regarding this letter. I called 2 more times on June 2nd and left the same messages. June 2nd, ******* with Alarm Services (1-866-477-7738) called me. She told me to send a written letter to document the cancellation date along with copies of my written contract. I will send them only a copy of their letter with my cancellation notice, Central Station Number only.

Please stop these people from further ruining more people's lives in these hard economic times. File a complaint against Alarm Services and Firstline Security for breach/no license of their contract to protect me/you/us for the last 2 years. I went back to ADT in April 2008. That is how I found out my alarm system was not hooked up properly and if there had been an emergency no one would have been notified anyway.

I also learned that Alarm Services is also known as Alarm Traders which I did not know until I was reading the Rip-off Report.  I called Alarm Services at the phone # shown on the letter at 1-866-477-7738 on Monday, June 1, 2009 at 3:02pm and left a message stating the service is cancelled, breach of contract, and left my phone # to call me back.  Again, I called on June 1, 2009 at 3:11pm and left the same message on **** ****'s phone line with Billing and collections. Again, June 2, 2009 at 6:32am. Left the same message again about cancelled service. Again, June 2, 2009 at 12:20pm left the same message again. Finally, June 2, at 1:09pm ***** called me but was not sure of what the contract time terms were and would call me back. Now, 20 minutes later, ***** called me and told me that she needs 30 days notice before cancellation would be accepted, BUT, the contract amount of $371.00 would need to be paid to satisfy the balance of the 36 month contract signed with FIRSTLINE SECURITY.

Update:
I originally added my complaint about Firstline Security & Alarm service on June 9, 2009. I have been billed by Alarm Services, 99 Pine St., Albany, NY for the last 10 months since I received their letter stating they were taking over the contracts for Bankrupt FirstLine Security (worst company EVER!).

The contract from Firstline is finally up in June 2010. I submitted my 30 days notice tonight. Thank god. What a learning experience. I do not allow anyone to sell me ANYTHING who comes to my door, approaches me or begs. I will be done with Alarm Services with next April's bill. I was looking at the BBB for Alarm Services tonight and see they have been downgraded to a D+ with 16 complaints. I am adding this note onto the website to let everyone know if they have complaints against Alarm Service-Firstline Security file with the BBB. Note: I was advised by a law firm to file in Small Claims against Alarm Services for the year it has billed me for a bankrupt business that did not adhere to their contract concerning the monitoring of my home.

I will keep you posted to let you know what comes of my filing in Small Claims. My final step dealing with worthless Firstline Security and Alarm Service.

2nd Update:
CRAPPY, BANKRUPT, ILLEGALLY OBTAINED 3 YEAR CONTRACTS from Firstline Security still SUCKS BIG TIME in my book and all my postings about them and my opinion of them has not changed one bit from the first rude phone call, no alarm response, and many, many no returned phone calls from them. And then they have the balls to go after customers thru (hide behind) Alarm Services and collect for service that was never rendered or had any intention to do so. When I tried to find out who was monitoring my address no one would return my calls. I had no idea my address was even protected at any time.  I personally on my own cancelled Firstline Security off my house and went back to ADT. At least I knew who my monitoring company was. Then Alarm Services has the balls to come back to EX-Firstline customers and strong arm us for the balance of the contract.  Am I satisfied with the result..... OH HELL, NO!!  What result? Firstline wasn't there for me and then I had to pay for an, DID I SAY IT.....ILLEGALLY OBTAINED CONTRACT where they were NOT approved to solicite in this city.

Firstline was bankrupt. They NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER made an attempt to contact me to resolve any issue. I posted my reviews to warn other people about doing business with this bad business company. Firstline Security owes me $381.00 for lack of service they gave me for a 3 year Illegally obtained contract for the last year
Alarm Services collected from me.
