Recent Customer Review For Firstline Security:
Firstline Security is one of the larger "sub-dealer" alarm companies.  That means if you become a Firstline client, your system will be installed by Firstline, but monitored by a different company.  Depending on where you live, you could be monitored by Alarm.Com, Monitronics, Counterforce, or Security Associates International.

Our module began announcing "Module OK" every 15 seconds, beginning in late 2008. We searched the manual for what to do but got no help.

We covered the module with a blanket to try to lessen the noise, which was driving us mad.  We finally got a technician to come, who announced that our system had never been operational, though we'd been auto-paying for months.  The guy powered down the system, and removed a failed part.  (It was all he could do to shut it up).

I told Alarm Services, via certified letter, that I was stopping auto-payments, and ending my contract due to never having any service, I got a reply saying that the technician was wrong, and that our system had been working until Jan. '09, that I could not end the contract without paying them hundreds of dollars.

I gave in, awaited the new parts, then tried to get someone back to repair the module. Meanwhile, no protection for our home.  The repair has yet to be made, as of May 5.

Yesterday I received an outrageous bill, demanding $140 for monthly "alarm monitoring" starting last November, plus a service trip charge (the tech said there was no charge) and a "return item fee."

Now I read on this site, that the company is filing for bankruptcy. Has anyone any ideas how to extricate themselves from this service without being turned over to a collection agency?  At the moment, I'm still trying to get the unit up and running again, agreeing to pay monthly again, once it is operational. But I would like to end this nightmare if possible.
