Don't bother with the extended service plan. They give you nothing in writing that explains what it will and will not cover. The brief written explanation is so nebulous that it basically means that each request for service will be individually evaluated by Brinks.
My sales rep, *** **** of the Irvine, CA office asked if we wanted the extended service and we declined. He then asked if we intended to replace any windows in the future. We said that we were. He specifically informed us that we would not have to pay for the service or installation of alarms in new windows if we purchased the extended service plan. He went on to detail how expensive it would be to pay for alarming new windows. It sounded like a good deal so we signed up.
When I called Brinks today to ask them to alarm our new replacement windows (after paying the monthly extended service fee for 6 years) I was told that alarming new windows was not covered in the extended service agreement.
After going back and forth with management and almost deciding to cancel our contract, they finally agreed to perform the work for free if I signed up for another 3 year contract.
Very rotten customer service!

This Brink's Home Security customer review has been submitted anonymously by a present or former Brink's burglar alarms client. Please note that Brink's uses a sub-dealer program, which usually means that a local company will install and service your alarm, and Brinks will monitor it. So a review listed here may not be for or against corporate Brinks, but a completely independent local dealer. If you submit a review, please indicate whether the review is regarding Brinks corporate, or the local company who installed your system.
