In the month of December 2007 I elected Brinks Home Security to provide my home with alarm monitoring service for which I entered into a 3 year contract and submitted a monthly payment of $32.46.

On May 10th of this year I received a voice mail from a Brinks customer service representative stating that the alarm at my property had been triggered. I called home and confirmed that the alarm had been set off on accident and that an emergency response was not warranted. I returned the call to Brinks in order to notify them that the alarm had been set off in error and to prevent them from dispatching an officer to the property.

Upon validating my account and informing the customer service representative of the issue, I was notified by the representative that regardless of my call they were prohibited from dispatching an officer due to the fact that they did not have a valid alarm permit on file for my address.

I am enraged that such an important piece of information was relayed to me in casual conversation after a year and a half of service with this company. I find it negligent that a company of whom I have entrusted with my most valuable assets never bothered to notify me that in the event of a true emergency they would have been bound by law to do absolutely nothing to assist my family in a time of crisis. Such a critical piece of information should have expressed to me upon my initial sales consultation had it been I would have immediately facilitated the filing of this document.

I cannot believe that a company of Brinks stature could be so careless with such a key piece of information that was so vital to them executing the services they offer.  For over a year and half this company allowed my family to proceed with a false sense of security but not relaying to me a key piece of information so critical and yet so trivial that it was offered in passing conversation by a customer service representative, absolutely shameless.

brink's home security reviews
This Brink's Home Security customer review has been submitted anonymously by a present or former Brink's burglar alarms client.  Please note that Brink's uses a sub-dealer program, which usually means that a local company will install and service your alarm, and Brinks will monitor it.  So a review listed here may not be for or against corporate Brinks, but a completely independent local dealer.  If you submit a review, please indicate whether the review is regarding Brinks corporate, or the local company who installed your system.
