I'm told Brinks just started their IP and GSM(cell) solutions last month.
While this might seem a bit slow in response to the need for alternatives to traditional phone lines, their techs say they have a "more traditional" approach. They also say they took a year to beta test their IP box. Still, The setup and configuration protocals do not have comprehensive documentation. In fact, there is very little they gvie the techs. This can lead to some lengthy trouble shooting for the tech depending on your network infrastructure.
However, with the right router and no other issues with panel upgrade to support the IP device, it could be a smooth transition. It seems evident in speaking with their technician's tech support that all this is being ironed out. They might not appear to have all the bells and whistles of other providers but in the many years we've been with them, we've had excellent, curtious, knowledgeable, very reliable service.
If you go with the IP device, be prepared to invest in a UPS for your network devices and having another the brinks ip box setup near your router.
