This Brink's Home Security customer review has been submitted anonymously by a present or former Brink's burglar alarms client.  Please note that Brink's uses a sub-dealer program, which usually means that a local company will install and service your alarm, and Brinks will monitor it.  So a review listed here may not be for or against corporate Brinks, but a completely independent local dealer.  If you submit a review, please indicate whether the review is regarding Brinks corporate, or the local company who installed your system.

NOTE:  If you are submitting a Brink's alarm review, please specify the local company that installed it, if applicable.

About Brinks security, they *claimed* when I hooked the service up (and YES I understand that they are simply salespeople) that if your phone line was cut then it would trigger the alarm and the police would come out. They also claimed the same about lines cut.. IF you cut the power lines then the battery would take over.. once that was dead the alarm would be activated.

So then I got my dsl worked on. The man noticed there was no filter on the alarm cord. He disconnected it and told me to buy a filter since he claimed not to have any on him. I forgot. MONTHS later when I got Tivo and the man gave me an extra filter I remembered. In this time I used my alarm daily. Brinks never even noticed that it wasnt connected?

I was pretty pissed for paying $30.95 a month and they wouldnt have even KNOWN if I pressed the emergency button!!! Then a day after I plugged it in, the thing went SPASTIC. Alarms were going off on the keypads and the big alarm. It FINALLY tried to call in and couldnt for some reason. I called Brinks and they couldnt figure out the problem and said they could send someone out since I had the service plan. YEah at 4am I wanted to listen to that thing for HOURS? no way. I ripped out the power cords and FINALLY it stopped. I had to disconnet the battery as well. Police never showed when power was discconected either???

I was fed up and cancelled since I wasn't in a contract.
