(Added Jan 19/12) Please beware of this company!! Their salespeople are con artist When I met with the salesperson, I explained that I had come out Bankruptcy and did not want any inquiries on my credit. I asked what the credit score was before agreeing to anything. The next question was odd "Are you planning on starting a business in the next few months? I replied "yes". He said what we could do is set-up the account as a business account. I asked is that legal and he said "yes" but I was still leery. To get me to sign up he call someone that he said was his boss. His boss said it is legal and we do it all the time and I signed the contract that had my name on it. After he had given my copy, he said "Oh , we need to add your company nam on the papers. The old switch a-roo. They will not correct the paperwork so I canceled. Now they want to pay $889.00 for canceling. Their collection department sent me a receipt with zero balance. I reported them to BBB with no results because I continued to reject thier response. I have spoke to 2 different people that tries to threaten you which is awful. DO NOT GET SECURITY SERVICE WITH ASG SECURITY! |

(Added Jan 16/12) I DO NOT recommend ASG Security to anyone!! BUYER BEWARE!!! They get people to sign a contract but cannot provide the service with quality equipment. Very POOR customer service |

(Added Jan 9/12) I have had ASG secirity for several years and I have gotten very good service from them.. I would reccomend then. I have other companys who weren't as good with their service. |

(Added Dec 19/11) After 20 years of paying on time, when I finally had a problem I was treated as someone without an education. Even canceling my servise was made difficult. Everyone spoken to on the phone spoke as if I did something wrong and lied to me. This is the first comment about any company that I have sent. Most companies treat the customer with respect, not ASG |

(Added Oct 27/11) HORRIBLE! Why we stuck w/them for so long I don't know. Almost 3 years ago we started with them and we discovered that, although we had been paying, they had not been monitoring our house for 4 months. A no show on a service visit without a call. Put a huge divit in a wall when making adjustment to a control panel. Raised our monthly bill without informing us. We have been tripping our alarm intentionally again and apparently they are not monitoring b/c we get no call. Switching to ADT and it will be the same price. |

(Added Oct 3/11) I received a letter from ASG on September 15 to notifly me of a price increase in my home alarm monitoring. I called to cancel my account using the phone number on the letter. The representative told me she would have an account manager call me. When one never called, I assumed the matter resolved. Today September 28 2011, I noticed ASG charged my credit card the new increased amount. I called ASG and spoke with Melissa, Rentention Supervisor. She informed me I could not cancel my contract without paying the remaining fees because after 3 years, my contract automatically renews without any notice to me. When I told her I would not pay the increase and did not appreciate being tricked into an automatic renewal, she told me that this was my fault, I signed the contract back in 2007 and it was my responsibility to inform in writing ASG that I did not want an automatic renewal by 30 days before the original 3 year contract expired. In other words, I could pay the $400 to cancel the remainder of my automatically renewed account. The converstation with Melissa was the most unprofessional discussion I have had with any company. In fact, I have never written any review for any company, even when I was displeased. In most cases, a company is willing to work with me to find an agreeable solution. I will never patronize ASG again. |

(Added Sep 23/11) Please beware of this company; they use commissioned sales people who are experienced con artists. The sales guy told me that 1 year max contract then month to month after that - complete lie - it auto renews for THREE YEARS - and to get out? Nearly $1,000. (Added Sep 20/11) ASG is TERRIBLE! Their service is ridiculous- we constantly have problems with our key pads and we always have to go through such an ordeal to get it looked at. Service appointments are always booked up (there's a clue they have problems!)and we've had times when they didn't even show as scheduled. We just had a fire code on our panel and were told service can't come for a week because they are all booked with fire code calls. After fighting with people for 15 minutes, I was told all I had to do was reset the panel. Why they couldn't do this is the first place is beyond me. My boss is the one who selected them and I tell him every day it was a mistake! I would not recommend them to anyone. |

(Added Aug 15/11) Stay away from ASG. If you read the contract carefully, it says. 3 years. After 3 years you have to send written request to cancel the contract. If you miss it, contract will be renewed for 2 years. I was not careful enough because I have never seen such conditions before in the US. And so on and so on. There no legal way to terminate the contract. Meantime, they have a right to increase monthly payment. Theoretically they can increase monthly payment to 1 million and you have to pay. I managed to settle everything for $150 but I am not sure yet. So, please, warn everybody to stay away from them. |
| (Added May 3/11) After 8 years with ASG, I decided to change to a lower-priced provider. So I called ASG on March 16, was transferred to the 'retention department' to find whether I was under contract. I had to leave a message, they called back the next day and left a message for me (that they called). I called them back the same day using the number they called from, but again had to leave a message. Finally a week later they called, said I was not under contract, but that I needed to provide a 30 day cancellation notice. I asked that they fax a copy of the contract with my signature agreeing to the 30 days, and she said she would as soon as we hung up. Today is 10 days later, and I've yet to get a fax or letter or any other communication. But they had no problem drafting on my bank account yesterday. I'm reporting to the BBB as this seems to be intentional incompetence. |

(Added Oct 29/10) I had searched for a company to set up a camera system for my business. I finally spoke to a rep from ASG and after a couple of meetings decided to sign with them. That was the first mistake. The rep informed me that the $2500 system was not owned by me, ever. The rep explained why that was, which made me very mad and I was about to refuse signing but really needed a system in place so against my better judgement I signed and also for the monthly maintenance. When the first months maintenance bill arrived there was a $3 administration fee added. About one month after the system was installed the cameras malfunctioned and I was unable get remote access to my business. Technicians have been out to fix the problem at least 6 times and still I cannot get remote access. It has been going on for 3 months. Management at ASG do not return messages and are never in their office to take calls. I will go further up the ladder. I have never received such bad service. DO NOT use ASG. |

(Added Sept 16/10) I cannot recommend ASG. I had been a customer for many years and recently decided to cancel service and signed up with another security company. I provided ASG an email request for cancellation thirty days in advance as required. I was surprised when I received a bill from ASG for the next three months service - my house is currently monitored by another company. I called ASG, explained the situation and was rudely informed that my email was never received and that I would have to write another letter before my account was closed. I told their representative that I would be happy to forward the original email request for cancellation and would appreciate a reply to confirm receipt and cancellation of service. I've forwarded the email and have yet to receive confirmation from ASG. I will have to call yet again, be transferred, put on hold and recite my address and account information multiple times to find out the status of my cancellation request. |

(Added Aug 12/10) (Updated Jan 3/11) My alarm doesn't work and has never worked. I can set it off and they never know it. They installed a back up cell phone service after charging me for it, and it doesn't work either. I would not recommend them. I did not cancel my contract in time and am now locked into another year. If you do go with these guys, try to remove that clause at least...... Update: Still broke. Alarm company is charging me but has no idea I even exist. |

(Added Mar 22/10) (Updated July 19/10) After reading all the different reviews on this site, I decided to go with ASG. I liked the fact that they use Honeywell products, they give you 3 door contacts and they were a bit more reasonable than most of the other national companies. From the initial conversation with my rep, I liked this company. He didn't try to sell me products that I didn't need and everyone I have dealt with so far has been very professional. I have had my system now for 3 weeks and have no complaints. Update: I have had my system now for several months. I'm happy to report that I have not had any problems with my system. I have recommended ASG to a neighbor who is also now a happy customer. The peace of mind I get knowing my house is protected is worth every penny! |
