I am a customer with Apx alarm, I'm not sure if this comment is going to be posted or not, my last review was not for some reason. (Note from Admin: If your review has not been posted, it is for one or more of the reasons specified on the review submission page).
I have read a lot of complaints and honestly I laugh at most of them. Many of the complaints are about how the sales rep swindled his way into the door and convinced them to buy a system on false pretenses. Let me explain my experience. On June 5th 2010 at 830pm an Apx rep knocked at my door. I was a little upset that it was so late, and told the rep that, he said this is usually the best time to catch people home and that they worked till nine. He went on to tell me about how phone lines are being cut on the old systems, and assured me that it would probably never happen in my nice neighborhood. I laughed and told him my neighborhood is not all that nice, and he went on to agree with saying that he has done research and knows most of the names in the neighborhood and of some of the issues, but went on to say that its none of his business to share those things with the neighbors. I commended him for not using scare tactics, and for knowing my name.
He went on to say how they were doing some advertising in the area for the new touch screen cellular keypad, and covering the $700 cost for a few people that were willing to put signs in there yards, and that he couldn't give everyone a system for free. At this point he has caught my interest. By the time i agreed to get the system and the rep left, i looked on-line. I realized that I had been had! The reps tell everyone that there doing a few for free. At this point i had 2 choices I could be mad I was sold, or just keep the alarm systems which seemed to be a great system. I decided to keep the system, only because I know me, and honestly I would not have let the guy in my house unless he had made me feel special. Even if everyone can get this for free, I had to admit it was a good tactic only because i have had other alarm guys at my door and I always quickly shewed them away. So to me I wasn't mad I had been sold such a great system even if I was made to feel special by the rep.
The main reason I am posting a review again is because I was recently broken into, and the police were at my home in an instance. You can look up the police report if you want, they caught the guy and thankfully my system worked, even after he had cut my phone line. Thank You Apx Sales Rep for Swindling me to listen to you a little longer, to understand that your system was so much better than the rest!

APX Alarms have been installing and selling (usually door-to-door) security systems since 1999, with monitoring centers in Utah and Minnesota. (These "in-house" central stations are quite new for APX, so older clients may still be monitored by ADT, SAI, Criticom, or Monitronics). Please remember that APX Alarms has thousands of other clients that may (or may not) be happy with their service, and this is only a small sampling of the opinions of their customers.
