Top 5 Complaints Of Home Security Customers
We've recently installed a APX alarm system I can't say that I have anything really horribly awful to say about it.  The hardware is top rate material and although the door to door sales pitch and install isn't for everyone it is what it is.  It's the companies business model and you either like or you don't.

They work like this.  They show up after supper and tell you they are in the area installing this system and are looking for a few houses to setup free systems minus the monthy service charge.  They try and convince you "only today" once you've signed the installers show up and install asap.  Again it's the business model.  No question it's pushy but atleast it's done with within 2 hours.  Not for everyone.

You'll then be signed into a long contract and yes it's about $15 more a month than the other guys but remember they didn't charge for any hardware or install fees so it almost evens out.  Plus the system has a internal cell phone back system in the event your land line goes down.  Now yes we could all argue this does or doesn't ever happen but then again you have the backup option there so this also a reason the montly fee is higher.

I will say this too.  When the "techs" showed up to install the system and I say "techs" lightly I was a little scared.  The guys looked like they walked out of school yesterday and I wouldn't be surprised if they did but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and this is why.  I've moved many times over the last few years and everytime I call our very respectible local cable company that has been around since I was a child I always expect professional installers to show up.  When they do with their fancy truck and all the gear they haven't got a clue and keep telling me, sorry we can't drill into that or we can do this.  I wonder, why the truck and gear?  Everyone is the same.  They all hire guys with zero training and basically off the street so if you go with APX be advised the installers might look a little wet under the ears but remember the last phone/cable guy who came to your house.  Wasn't he the same?

At the end of the day, the system works great my family feels safer at home and really all that matters.  If you can look past the pushy sales pitch and the monthly fee you'll be fine and won't have any complaints.
