Rep came to my door and before I could tell him to get lost, he was already giving me his verbatum plan to con me into this craptastic company.
Very pushy, oh everything's great, isn't it great we're giving this and that away, just as long as you display our sign in your yard. And just so everyone knows, only 30% of people "qualify" for their deal. Wasn't I just lucky enough to be one of those 30%. And he knew he had the sale, because he was guilting me into it since I have a young child to protect and he heard from other neighbors that my neighborhood isn't safe...really? I've never had a problem.
So, I start giving him my information, name, address, phone, and then stupid me, I gave him my checking account information since they demand that's how they need to process the payment. And then, if I can be flexible with their installation team, they could install in the next day or two...no wait, surprise! His installer is just down the street in a rental car ready to throw this system up on my wall before the ink is dry! Amazing! So, ***** has done his job and gotten me to believe I need all of this and here comes *****, the nerdy installer who, based on my experience, hasn't been doing his job very long. Why did I come to this conclusion? Because he had to go back to his car to get the instructions on how to install the thermostat for my Energy Saver Plan!
They put staples in my wood trim to keep the window security thing on the window, and a huge hole in the middle of my wall! Then, when he's done, ***** decides to sit there and watch TV with my daughter and I. I don't know if this was some sort of tactic to make them seem like buddies of mine, but I should have ripped the system out of my wall before he left. Better yet, I should have researched this company before letting them into my home.
I've overnighted their cancellation letter (signature required) per the recommendation of my boss, who's family also got caught up in this same scam, and that's the smartest $20 I've spent as I'm sure they would say they never got it otherwise. I closed my bank account and had a fraud alert put on it, which was all a huge hassle, but I'm going to make sure these losers don't get a dime of my money. Shame on me for believing them, shame on them for their shady business practices. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE!!! They fly into your town, put the system in, and jump ship ASAP.
Oh yeah, and on the cancellation letter and contract, they also put the wrong date on there to try to make it look like I purchased it earlier than I did, thinking that if I decided to cancel, it would happen after their 3 day rule, and it would be too late...hahahahaha guess who's getting the last laugh. I'll take them to court the minute they contact me with any sort of bill. And for the sign I'm required to keep in my yard? It's been violently thrown away and broken in half. I hope this prevents others from getting screwed over.
