It was a hostile takeover.
The sales rep shared information about the company, showed me a list of neighbor names that they claim also has signed up for APX, asked to come inside and the next thing I know - there were 4 men in my house installing the system! I had already said several times that I need time to consider other options, but the rep persisted. APX sales reps are aggressive - I regret allowing myself to be so bullied.
At any rate, I got the system. Not the beautiful one shown in the brochure. It was something quite basic. The buttons have stick on labels (very cheesy). The worst part of this whole experience is its unpredictability. I was assured of a 100% active cell link (I dont have a landline), but I have received errors a few times that suggest that there was a communication failure (or so the telephone rep said). What happened to 100%??? Also, on occassion, I enter the code into the system and it doesn't take and before I know it police are arriving at my door.
This company has a lot of work to do in terms of consistency of their product (hardware) and the speed and responsiveness of the associates at the monitoring company. I recommend you stick with something tried and true.
I completely regret getting this system. Monthly monitoring is expensive, hardware is cheap, and the sales reps are dishonest at best!

APX Alarms have been in business since 1999, with clients nationwide. APX will install your alarm, but your monitoring will be provided by Security Associates International (www.sai-inc.com), who operate two monitoring centers in the U.S. (Pompano, FL, and Arlington Heights, IL). Please remember that APX Alarms has thousands of other clients that may (or may not) be happy with their service, and this review is only a small sampling of the opinions of their customers.
