Just like all the other folks on this website I was taken in by the salesman. He gave us the pitch and most of what he said was true. However, and most importantly, he said there was no contract....WRONG!!!
Not until after the trial period did I find out there was a 5 year contract. I am military, so near and dear to my heart is the ability to cancel. The salesman and the rep on the phone said it would be no problem, call the company tell them you want to cancel and, since I am military, fax my orders and I could cancel. Now that I have moved, they are saying I am required to live on base in order to cancel...something I never would have agreed on based on the limited availability of base housing no matter where you go.
It is a scam and a travisty that 1) I was lied to, 2) I still have to pay and 3) I cannot cancel even though I have moved 1800 miles away and am not even using the alarm I am paying for. DO NOT EVER SIGN UP WITH APX unless you do not plan on moving until your contract is up and the 5 year contract has a 1 year extension that is automatic so if you are not paying attention you will get screwed for an additional year.
