An APX rep succeeded with the scam of representing that he was merely "upgrading" my existing service with ADT.
He even outright lied to me several times, assuring me that this was not a new service and that he would personally see to it that I was not billed twice and would take care of canceling the previous bank draft; he said that he needed a new automatic draft authorization because the name of the company had changed.
Once I realized that I was in fact being billed by two different alarm companies, I called APX and was told that it was a new service and that I was still responsible on the old contract even though they had removed my old equipment.
At this point, they have not acted on my complaint.
