I am extremely upset with this company! I have one of these alarms in my home and it was broken into last month. The burglars found a window that somehow was not within the range of the motion detector and broke it to get in. A stove and refridgerator were stolen. The alarm did not go off until the back door was opened.
I should have done this earlier, but after the break-in, I tested the alarm by setting it off and waiting for a call from the alarm company. It took them 6 minutes to call me to inform them that it was going off.
When I called the company, they said that they did their part by calling the police and that they could send in a technicion to reposition the motion detector. I explained that I had lost all faith in the system and would like to cancel. They said I would either have to pay off the entire contract or transfer the service to someone else. How could I really feel good about passing on this useless system to someone else?
Every summer, I get a bunch of kids from Utah come out and try to sell me this system. They come out with their crime stats and are very pushy. Usually I say "no", but this year, I decided to take it. Boy am I regretting it. I wonder if next year, they will mention that at least one of the houses that was burglarized had their alarm system in place? I also wonder how the burglar knew exactly which window to break that would not set off the motion detector? I can not begin to explain how violated I feel.
