My wife and I had ADT for nearly seven years with not a single problem. We changed to APX for the upgrade, even though our service increased by approximately $10.00/month. The system was installed late (about 11:00 pm) on the evening of July 9, 2008. The morning of July 17 (7 or 8 days, depending on how you count), it failed -- constant beeping, no long-range radio communication, which pretty much tells me I'm no longer being monitored. This does NOT record anywhere else except in our home, so who knows how long one could be without service if one were away on vacation. APX doesn't even know that I've dropped off their grid.....
First offer of service was a week after we reported it, although we did manage to get someone out sooner (in the evening again).
