DO NOT USE ADT!!!!
There customer service is horrible, their coverage is incompetent and no one ever knows what is going on. I run a small museum and have had nothing but trouble from ADT. Today I scheduled to have a new fire alarm panel programed and hooked up to the ADT system and their service man (who is very nice) does not know how to perform this task. Now I have a million+ dollars worth of artifacts in a 100+ year old house with NO fire protection till Monday. In the past we've had problems with our fire and security system not being linked so when our fire alarm goes off and the fire department comes, and then the security system goes off because of intruders and ADT can't figure out that these two things might be linked.
Save yourself the worry. Our local fire capt. noted that my description of ADT as incompetent was "generous" and many of my museum peers agree. As soon as we have the money to switch, we certainly will.
3 Month Update:
ADT has not responded to multiple requests for copies of the original contract that they made with the previous renters of our building. While the problem did get fixed, it took over a month and 3 visits from the fire department at 2am. Our problem of a broken alarm was exacerbated by using an ADT recommended service technician to put in a new fire panel and then sending their own technician who did not know how to hook the systems together, but tried anyway. This attempt knocked out our phone lines for
the weekend and took 2 professionals to fix over multiple visits.
