Review For: ADT Security Services (Con't)
This ADT customer review has been submitted anonymously by a present or former ADT burglar alarms client.  Please note that ADT uses a sub-dealer program, which usually means that a local company will install and service your alarm, and ADT will monitor it.  So a review listed here may not be for or against corporate ADT, but a completely independent local dealer.  If you submit a review, please indicate whether the review is regarding ADT corporate, or the local company who installed your system.

NOTE:  If you are submitting an ADT alarm review, please specify the local company that installed it, if applicable.

Recent Review For ADT Alarms (con't):
I've had ADT for 5 years. I had to have the cell backup upgraded from analogue to digital-no problem as I understand this is necessary due to cell network upgrades.

However,  was stood up twice. One day I took off of work and the other was a Saturday. They finally came on the third try but when I complained to ADT about being stood up for the first two appointments, they wouldn't offer me any sort of compensation. They claimed they use the locally contracted technicians to do their service work. We had one repair-one of the wireless sensors went bad. They came to fix that (again a technician contracted by ADT) but we noticed that our siren is missing now. I called ADT and told them and they said they would send someone out to fix it and started reviewing the charges-somewhere in the neighborhood of $200. I told them that it was their technician who removed the siren, he never told us he was removing it, there were no problems with it that we were aware of, and so I shouldn't be charged. They told me they would determine whether or not I'd be charged when the technician got there. He is scheduled to come tomorrow, but when I got home today there was a message on my machine saying that he tried to come today and missed us. I called ADT to verify that the appointment was for tomorrow and they agreed that he wasn't supposed to come today but rather tomorrow. I asked them if they can install security cameras and they said they'd have to email someone (a different department I guess) and request that they give me a call. Three days later, I still haven't heard from anyone.

I'm a little concerned with their lack of ability to keep their scheduling, the fact that their technician removed the siren from my house without telling me (or asking me if he could), and the failure to return my call requesting to buy more from them. If they can't do this stuff right, how can I trust them to protect my home?

I'm going to find a new company, preferrably a local company that needs to maintain its local reputation.
