Review For: ADT Security Services (Con't)
This ADT customer review has been submitted anonymously by a present or former ADT burglar alarms client.  Please note that ADT uses a sub-dealer program, which usually means that a local company will install and service your alarm, and ADT will monitor it.  So a review listed here may not be for or against corporate ADT, but a completely independent local dealer.  If you submit a review, please indicate whether the review is regarding ADT corporate, or the local company who installed your system.

NOTE:  If you are submitting an ADT alarm review, please specify the local company that installed it, if applicable.

Recent Review For ADT Alarms (con't):
We have been customers for about 10 years. Very suddenly the service given by ADT deteriorated. Our system was sold to us by a company salesperson and installed by ADT (not a 3rd party). We had enjoyed peace of mind and good customer and technical service for years.

A few years ago, we began to have trouble with our keypad- meaning we could not arm our system- someone promptly came out and fixed it (twice). Then a tech. told us that the type of pad we had was not used anymore. So why wouldn't ADT just tell us that and install the current keypad? They would for $282. They consider this an "upgrade" and an equipment replacement resulting from wear-and-tear which is not covered by the extended warranty.

We refused to pay and a salesman came to our home and quoted us $. He also said he'd have them reimburse us for the period of lost service.

Since then the only contact I've had has been initiated by myself. The national office is embarrassed by the number of calls I've had to make but apparently they are powerless when it comes to controlling the behavior of the local offices. E-mail is even more useless and the company doesn't even have a complaint procedure or a mailing address for correspondence on the bills (which we stopped paying).
Managers do not return my calls and one had the nerve to blame the salesman for not submitting paperwork. She's the manager, she should make sure her employees and colleagues do their jobs to make the customer happy.
